(5)Hybrid Blue Magoos, 2 Scoops, Mystery B cross pollinating

Gravy baby. I have the 4 females I predicted including the clone. I transferred their pots late in schedule yesterday and was going to water but lights went out and in 30 seconds I had promptly zipped up the tent giving them their 11 hrs. 59 min. 30 sec. of darkness. They still look kind of scroggy after I have just watered. R.G., I'm starting to suspect these are all female as I can't make out any wang among the others. I'm almost sort of concerned because I think pot 8 is also female.

Good Morning farmers. Tick the link to drop your best photo and give a Like, Fire, or Frosty AF to yours truly with the stunning Afternoon Delight profile pic. The contest ends at the end of the month and so far only a handful of pics are submitted so get in there while you can!

I GOT IT! What if I stress one out as much as I could? That should work because it will turn herm or male, the off spring will be herm prone but that percentage of herm likeness should decrease with each new generation of seeds. BINGO

Great. Thanks to some superb looking out by basscaptain my fun may continue. Thanks @basscaptain. I was having some trouble coming up with a particular course of action or a main goal for that matter but here's what I have so far.
I pollinate 3 different strains with Hyper Blue Cherry Magoo pollen then what... I guess I sift through one or two generations of each strain's offspring looking for the plumpest seeds, the most vigorous growing males, the most yielding females, and tastiest buds...then what... Once I find those, I do some strategic backcrossing in order to strengthen said chosen traits...then I tack on the new names :). I got "Berry Blue Magoo" so far for my blueberry strain with no name but it's not too creative.

Please don't do that. Lol.
Friends don't let friends grow hermies. ???
or, get some pollen from a friend....
Yes. Fantastic answer. ???

Be prepared for alot of plants if you're wanting to jump down that rabbit hole. ???
It's an easy one to chuck for some beans, and make your own crosses. But Imho it's a completely different animal to working a strain for specific traits to create a stable new strain.
It also takes a fair bit of room to do what you refer of. At least a couple of them.
Heck of alot of fun though. Oh my I love it. Lol

This 420 was the start of phase 2, to find the right daddy for my Jenny plant to bx to.
I'll grow out all the males I get and fully flower them to see who most resembles her good traits, and fixes her weak limbs.
I'll take those however many males I get and dust a Jenny clone on separate marked branches.
Then reveg the boys to see if they have intersex issues under severe stress.
Do all you can to ensure the mom and dad's are solid plants to work off. ???

Check out Schwaggy P's thread here at pH. He has alot of really great info about all of this.

Golden advice from the master. No I certainly will not grow herms now that I have options XD. Should I be crossing strains with only similar traits you think? What I have for small males(clones) is a small grow box and 4 cfl bulbs. I plan on blooming the male clones while keeping them small. Please correct me if im wrong but it just takes a tiny smidgen of pollen to pollinate multiple plants so I'm not looking for alot of it. Maybe I can also keep a good and vigorous one growing at all times. The very thought of keeping mother and father plants alive post harvest is kind of overwhelming though. I really do need extra space.

Lol, I'm not a master grower by any means. But I like to learn from them. Lol.
And yes, not much pollen is needed.
For what your crossing it's really a matter of what your goals are. I did the Crazy J's for a purpose, to sustain and or improve my Jenny Chem plants structure and keep her pretty exact high, flavor, and smell she has.
Then I also hit clones of her with every other boy I've had in the locker room to see what happens. Lol. A shotgun style approach. Hehe

yeah man I'm certainly loving your freestyle form yet methodical approach to doing it. That VA Skunk probably has a much different terpine profile to it but I'm going to stabilize all my strains with it through multiple generations. I want it as the prime father strain. Of course I'll use the Magoo pollen the same way.

Where I got alot of the technique and methods I use were learned from @Schwaggy P.
He's the Professor of Green for sure. Check out his thread on here, lots of great info on how to use that pollen.

I was wondering if I could sustain healthy blooming male and female plants all in solo cups. It turns out the answer is yes. Here's concrete evidence in picture form if you will(these are not mine). Unless these were done in coco coir, I think this is quite achievable for me. Me and CFLs get along quite well.

Low light, low nutes, and daily water checks and yes solos can work just fine.
Though the waterings do become tedious in that small of a container. My solo cup grows have always increased to 2x daily waterings for example. A pita for me. Lol.
Solo cup comp was so much fun though. ?
1x a day checks are hard enough to do everyday. Lmfao.
Imho I've found the square 5.5" pots, 1.75L, work the best for my MO.
Big enough for decent roots.
Square for fitting in close to each other really well. Easy to slide out if rootbound, do a root shave like a loaf of bread, repot in same container with some fresh soil around it.
Sometimes I use round 2 liters for extended stay library plants too, theyre just not as convenient to stuff into back low light corners. Lol.

Ah yes solo cup comp I heard is a thing. Is soil ever used as the medium because twice a day waterings can get tedious. I'd imagine a regular dose of nutes will keep mine going after the soil is all leached. The 2 liter bottles are an idea because you get the humidity dome as well. Good thing about growing males is I don't need to worry about making them big or obtaining multiple ounces of pollen. lol

Except for seedlings and cloning all I use is a super soil. My ROLS, all organic stuff.
It's what I used for the comp then. Was doing pretty decently til I ended up fighting some root rot. Due to the 2x daily watering needs I made a sip system to handle the watering. It however kept things too wet etc and fouled up my whole plan. Lol. Really got to learn some neat stuff out of that grow though.
Had some issues I'd never had before so got to learn some new fix it shit.

I like the 5” square pot, fit fourteen in a 2x2 tray, you loose two spots for the f&d fittings. Hydroton
You can sort through, toss as needed.
I wasn't crazy about the roots exposed, so I stretched panda plastic (white side) using wind lacing to capture it on the lip.
Cut X out for pot, easy patch if doesn’t make the cut, solos work too. Plastic hold them in place, worked really good for me. Net pots work too.

Anyone else think foil tape kicks the crap out of duct tape. It ain’t go no speed rating!
