Arthritis - Go to?

Nefar

In Bloom
I do some RC flying at a local flying field and for the most part that's a middle aged to senior level group. Majority of people all have their health issues, including me. There are some old law enforcement guys there but the pain is starting to out weigh their old stigmas. Everyone knows I'm the stoner at the field. I bring gummies (they never do shit to me) and hand em out to the willing and I always have flower for myself & willing to share. When I hear damnit *Nef i'm too high to fly. I feel like I've done my job.

I do, however, get a lot of 'medical' type questions that I dont really know how to answer. Most, including myself, have some type of joint pain. I have a guy asking me about arthritis options. It would not surprise me if this guy has never smoked or got high in his entire life. We have a million over priced dispensarys out here so it's not very hard to find 'product' and of course their 22 year old 'bud tenders' all have something to sell the old man for pain relief.

I know a lot of people in here specifically talk about medical use and the intent is not to 'sell'. Has anyone actually had something work for arthritis pain? If so was it a topical? RSO, which strains helped etc? Is there a data sheet somewhere that has this type of information? I havent' really taken anything for specificly for pain, or every used a topical. Nothing fully takes my join pain away but pretty much any weed Anything helps me with joint pain, at least for awhile. I can educate these guys from that are from the reefer madness type of mentality but I dont really have the information to guide them to a my XXX hurts what can I take questions.

Jack Herer, and Harlequin were 2 of my favorites. I like to use salves.

I am making salves staring right now.
On my renewal my doc said why are you not using cannabis topicals.
Because I can’t feel them work.
They work. Even if you can’t feel a menthol tingle he said.
And it’s way better than cortisone shots.
I am firing up the source turbo.
Ordered a lot of beeswax and jojoba and lavender aromatics
Other than that. For real a Kirkland arthritis Tylenol and anti imfllammatoey weed
I am growing a lot of godbud next
It is ideal

If I get high enough I don’t feel
My hands. At all. Ohhmmm

No doubt I could use anti-inflamatory for myself. I had to look up source turbo. Damn.
I've been taking CBD @80mg and CBG @50 mg every morning...It's definitely helping with stiffness and dull pain but what I've noticed the most is that my knuckles in my hands don't hurt anymore and that pain was ridiculous at times..I get the isolate from Zero point Buy CBD Isolate | Bulk CBD Isolate | Pure CBD

Bingo! I just purchased 20 grams of CBD isolate but, I could use a little info on dosing with caps. How about a few pointers, my good man?

I don't have a lot of info honestly..I started by taking 20mg off a small measuring spoon daily...wasn't feeling any difference ..The day i said hell with it and took 80 of each I noticed quite a difference.. I don't know if that was the day it finally caught up and started helping or i just needed a higher dose..Now i just take between 80 and 100 mg every morning and its made a major difference..I won't be without it..The arthritis in my knuckles was seriously quite painful some days... Not anymore..Not even a lil bit

That's starting to him me now, knuckles & hands. I get crazy achilies type heel pain / stiffness in the a.m. or after I get up out of a 30+ minute chair sit. That I think might be tied to my sugar levels but man that hurts.

I make a CBD cream for my pain and it keeps arthritis at bay so far. It's probably not CBD legal, but it keeps me functional! I use leaves and clippings that are not trichrome laden, with coconut oil for my base.

Here is one of the recipe's I use:
  • 1.5 cups virgin coconut oil (or cannabis-infused coconut oil)
  • 1/3 cup olive oil
  • 1/3 cup beeswax pastilles (or soy wax for a vegan option)
  • 10g ground cannabis flower (you can choose CBD-rich or high THC)
  • 1 tbsp vitamin E (optional)
  • Essential oil of your choice (optional, for added fragrance)

Instructions:

  1. Decarboxylate the cannabis: Preheat your oven to 240°F (115°C) and spread the ground cannabis on a baking sheet. Bake for 30-40 minutes to activate the cannabinoids.
  2. Infuse the coconut oil: In a double boiler or makeshift double boiler, melt the coconut oil and add the decarboxylated cannabis. Let it simmer on low heat for about 2-3 hours, stirring occasionally.
  3. Strain the oil: Use a cheesecloth to strain the cannabis plant material from the oil. Squeeze out as much oil as possible.
  4. Combine the ingredients: In a double boiler, melt the beeswax and olive oil. Add the infused coconut oil and mix well until everything is melted and combined.
  5. Add optional ingredients: If you're using vitamin E or essential oils, add them to the mixture and stir well.
  6. Pour into containers: Pour the salve mixture into clean, dry containers (like tins or jars) and let it cool and solidify at room temperature.
  7. Store properly: Keep the salve in a cool, dark place to maintain its potency.

You're recipe is almost an exact duplicate of what I do @Deebs . Works great! The pot doc I used to see told me use the strongest weed I can find. High THC and CBD were best. That was his call.
My wife uses it every night on her arthritic hands right before bed. Cotton gloves are essential so as not to ruin the sheets. I use it on my feet when they get bad.

Bee venom has anti-inflammatory effects
Some medicinal herbs have anti inflammatory effects, Like Chinese Skullcap, Japanese Knotweed, Mugwort, green and black teas.
Anthocyanin rich foods(purple carrots/potatoes,corn).

Most inflammation stems from diet, Stop consuming sugar wherever possible, as sugar is a major cause of inflammation.

Beekeepers rarely develop arthritis despite there consumption of honey, so not all sugars are equal, also, honeycomb is pretty good too.

I just recently had someone recommend Manuca Honey for inflammation.

We, (man this will be a eye roll for most of you) found Tai Chi about a year and half ago now.
It is a free course, and I felt silly as fuck at first.
However the deep breathing of (Qigong) and slow motion movements, of Tai Chi have been so very helpful, to us.
My balance is far better now, many of our aches and pains are reduced, (mostly in the getting up from sitting.
It really ties in very well, to the meditation I practice.
We are still are working to reduce our body weight., by reducing meat intake, processed food reduction, and eating smaller portions.
I stop all food intake by 8:00 pm, (ok, I try like hell) and have zero desire for food until 1:00 or so the next day.
In this day and age, of topsy turvy shit in the USA, I do not get NEARLY as angry, I do NOT let shit stick in my head, like I once did.
Just like taking a weed capsule, I do not feel much of anything, but my mind is much happier now, LOL!

I haven't poked my head in Phenohunters much for awhile. Might be good timing @webeblzr for me to look more. After three back surgeries last year, I'm better. Still, on occasion, pretty messed up from sciatic pain, which I didn't have before. Inflammation. Ya. I had a surgery late November. Inflammation got so nasty so fast I had surgery two weeks later. That got me from crawling around the floor, to using a walker, now walking.
We took are on a better food path. Less processed stuff. Lots of meatless meals. Lots of seafood. I need to visit more often.

If anyone can source Darlins Net (Dans Buds' personal pheno), this strain is excellent for pain. I lost it yrs ago, as no one wanted her any longer. I think @HydroRed is/was in the Josey Wales circle. He might be able to source it.

I even used this pheno to help people kick opioid addictions. 8 of 13 people i helped 100% kicked the addiction.

Damn sorry to read that crownpoodle!
We are faithful vitamin D3 takers, for one reason, it's a great inflammation fighter.
Super cheap, after the 5th year, all my wife's medicine cabinett full of *stuff*, items disappeared.
The OTC Allery stuff, all the eye drops, all the head ach shit all gone.
Hell when we remodeled the bathroom, we did not even put a medicine cabinett in the wall!
She is 70, I'm 68, and neither of us have an prescriptions. OK I'm big liar, I have an eye glass prescription.
We get, that can change in a blink of an eye.
We reduced our meat intake, it is around $80.00 for 4 months worth, beef/pork/fowl/fish, from the butcher shop.
We weight out portions of beef/pork/ fowl/fish to 140 gram packages, and use one per meal, for both of us.
We indulge in a pretty wide variety of vegetables, and grains, but really load up on vegetables, using as short of cooking time as possible.
We did throw away margarine, all hydrogenated processed oils, they are just crap for your bowels, well more so your gut biome.

Over processing, turns food items into gut sludge, that increases inflammation!!
We are going on 20 years now of reshaping our food thinking process.
We got a lot to do yet, and it's a daily battle for us, we both love food, but we did not always know what food really is, as not everything called food should be stuck into our faces.
Just my take on it crownpoodle. I so hope for the best for you!!
