Well, I decided to brave the depravity of Rollitup to find my answer and after wading through far too many tears I found my answer.... apparently the collaboration strain is a Zkittlez x Lavender Lemonade ... which sounds pretty good actually? Though I feel like not going with Wookie Cookies was a missed opportunity. That names mine by the way so if you want it Berner just DM me an offer...

Got this on the RIU Bodhi thread. Post # 64,192 for reference.

Looks like they're using a male that is a cross between a Zkittlez/Lemon Tree Cookie cut mom, and the Wookie, I think, if I'm reading correctly.
This "Lavender Lemonade" seems like it will be a new male, and they'll probably cross it to a bunch of Cookie cuts.
...Yay?

Personally, If I were in Bodhi's Birkenstocks, I would have found (at least) a couple of brand new bad ass landrace males to mix up with the cookie boys cuts. One Sativa, one Indica, at least.
That seems (to me) to be a more interesting, and unique, way to go, genetically.
This current way, Bodhi's genetics only make up half of the father of whatever they'll cross it with, or 25% of the resulting seeds.
I think I'd feel a little better if our first crosses were half my genetics, half cookies...But I know nothing, professionally speaking lol

Doesn't effect me much either way, me buying more seeds at this stage borders on insanity.

You ain't kidding and I've never had the must order more seeds disease. I just looked through my seed box and I e got enough seeds to last me several lifetimes and I'm gearing up for a preservation run to make hundreds/thousands of seeds. The last thing I need at this point is more seeds and there are people still sending me more seeds?

I do have a couple things that will be my focus this coming spring, Mother's Milk x BBHP fems, Rhubarb S1 fems, and revisit Mother's Milk searching for a nice male to cross with the Mother's Milk clone I'm running and the two above. I don't even need to be entering any contests but so far so good, haven't won any?

Can someone fill me in what this Berner x Bohdi collaboration actually is? Now I'm seeing people get all bent out of shape about the genetics behind it but NO ONE IS SAYING WHAT THEY ARE.

Also, Bohdi publicly confirmed that he took a job at cookies as the director of genetics about an hour ago just FYI, so guess it's more than a rumor now

This Lavender Lemonade may not be the new male, like I thought, reading the first mention. It may be the first strain they're releasing.
So, their Zkittlez x Lemon Tree, and his Wookie.
I'd still rather he found a new male though lol

Why are people surprised a privileged kid who was paying $20,000 for cuts years and years ago would take the money? It has always cracked me up how much people love Bodhi and buy into all of the white guy living in the suburbs in California spirituality stuff.

some simple observations......... Bodhi's prices have been dropping for 2 years. This latest at GLG was $22.50 a pack. So Bodhi grosses prolly half that. That's a buck a bean. That's the GROSS! What does he NET? I'd bet something under 35% of that. Let's say he can net the 35%. Roughly $4 a pack in that scenario. How many packs does he sell?? Needs to sell 25,000 packs to make 100 grand..........maybe the numbers are worse and a job looks good at this point. I dunno. I like the beans going down pricewise....but after years of that the cupboards are full

Most of those things you mentioned were said by me. This was all just rumor to me this morning. I don’t remember where I saw it but someone posted something about Kevin Jodrey saying Bodhi was going to sign a contract with cookies to be the director of genetics. He said this was due to having a rough couple of years and having meetings with berner to discuss options and possible partnership.

I agree that the pack pricing dropping over the last few years was most likely due to financial need. But then when he started to release all the NFT stuff is where I started to question it. No way in hell he has trouble finding solid testers. But then the last drop really made me think that something was up. It seems like it was just him dumping the rest of his stock he no longer intended to move forward with.

Him not being able to make seeds under his own label will depend on the contract. He seems like a smart enough guy to not sign away all his genetics to a giant corporation. But there also may be a clause that he cannot release anything outside of the cookies banner during the time of his contract. Which is what I would assume. They don’t want him selling gear at a fraction of the price of their packs after all the hype boys find out about him. No one would buy the cookies crap for $500 a pack when you could get work directly from their head breeder for less than $100.

I would assume that with the amount of plants that he has he would need a license. Otherwise he would be putting his family and business in jeopardy. I am unsure if he already had a license, perhaps he moved, or couldn’t renew it for some reason. Or maybe it was just speculation, I can’t say for sure.

But what I do know is that he is a kindhearted individual and seems to have the best of intentions with this move. Whether or not cookies is on the same page is left to be seen. But I hope for the sake of the community that they are, because if berner fucks bodhi over I don’t see it ending well for anyone involved, or the community in general for that matter.

I would imagine the proceeds of a totally new venture might not be subject to any previous divisional agreements.

UPDATE: Hello Sweet IG family, Bodhi and I feel like it’s time to share some things that have been going on in our world. We have decided that after 15 years being together, 3 beautiful children and co-creating Bodhi Seeds- it is time to separate as a couple. It has been a VERY MUTUAL decision and we both feel really excited about the new chapters in our lives. He has a new LOVE, and she has been in our lives for over 20+ years. I am in full support of their relationship. And truth be told I am FOREVER GRATEFUL to her because she is helping B raise our boys while I am in treatment. If it wasn’t for her, I would not be able to take 3 months to myself, for the time and healing I need. She has also been a big part of the Bodhi Seeds team for the past 2+ years. We have wanted to share this news with you, but it didn’t feel like the right time until now. You know how transparent I am with all of you. And it feels good to give this update. For now, nothing will change. We are still a family and a company working together. Hope you are all well. Good luck to him and everyone else in life. I'm big on believing you only have one life and you shouldn't spend it looking in the rear view mirror regretting things. As long as he sleeps well at night and can look at himself in the mirror and not loathe what looks back at him that's all that should matter. It's not mine or anyone else's concern what other people do with their lives as long as it doesn't impact me or hurt my family.

His ancient og I'm going to be running in a few crosses from motherlode next season. From all reports it's killer so I'm keen as mustard.
I don't think I've seen anything he's run that I've said nah. Everything I've seen grown out of his looks killer too. So you're right, spend those dollars on the lines before they are out.

My concern which seems to have afflicted the entire world is this....when did governments and people get the belief that they could rule you, tell you what you could or could not do, and would let you do something they would permit if you traded in commerce with them and bought a licence to do something, grow something?

After all the governments of the world are there specifically as a representative for different parts of your nation and are there specifically as servants to you as basically office workers/administrators of paperwork etc. Nowhere did it make sense to give these people unfettered power over people.
Ultra vires- beyond one's power or authority. I gave no one authority over me as I'm sure everyone else did. So why are you allowed to do something as long as you pay a licence? You know what the real meaning of licence? Kickback

I’m not sure how relevant or appropriate it is to talk about Ms Bodhi’s personal struggles in this discussion. Nor do I think that them splitting had anything to do with his decision for this venture.
