I’ve been watching a lot of videos of ladies doing up sourdough. I still haven’t learned all the “signs” of the process, but following one of the ladies recipes has gotten me a good start! I’ve only done two loaves so far that didn’t rise as well as the others, so far.
Those loaves looking pro to me! I made a handful of sourdough last year as I learned a basic recipe. I never took it any further than that, but I want to get some of those proofing baskets and score some designs into the dough this winter. I was debating on buying an old " san francisco sour dough " starter this year.

I'm so full of amish country loaf... There's something about that yeast bread smell that I can't resist.

One of the ladies I watch is, Southern Sourdough Co. She has a large starter that she dehydrates to sell and ship. She is asking $20 for a 10 gram pouch, which kind of seems a little pricey to me, but it would be a good way to start. I watched a few videos and made my own starter. It was roughly a two week process to get it strong enough, but as you can see, it seems to be working quite well!
I found a recipe for an apple cinnamon pull apart sourdough……I think Christmas Eve is going to include that and the family watching National Lampoons Christmas Vacation!
