CO2 additions to plants?

Our gas guy supplies O2, CO2, etc to some local dispensary operations and said those supplementing CO2 in the grow rooms and also in the hydro side are experiencing a 30-50% increase in yield and a boost in vigor. A cursory search yielded some positive leaning info but no real scientific fact, especially relating to cannabis. Has anyone here supplemented with it, any positive results? Negatives? I know its an acidic gas, I assume that could potentially cause some harm, but should also assist with nutrient solubility and uptake, too.

Potentially lethal if it were to displace enough oxygen.

That may be optimistic.
In a nutshell: CO2 will take a perfect 10 up to eleven , maybe 12.

CO2 supplementation can only be beneficial if CO2 availability is the main contributing factor of limitations of growth.
The benefit may only be seen when every other factor is titzperfect.

Fair, that was my initial impression as well, they've gotten everything else dialed in and this was the final deficiency.

I cant run without c02 supplementation as I have a sealed room. My ppms have been in the low 100s before & the plants really showed it. Considering atmosphere is about 400ppms I was pretty much starving them of air they could breathe.

Once you see for yourself how easy it really is & the benefits like heat resistance/improved yield you'll laugh at your old grows with atmosphere levels of c02. But it is important your grow is already dialed, as just adding c02 wont maximize its benefits. Temp, rh, air movement, & nutes all gotta be on point. Like jewels said, you wanna be pretty close to 100% already, adding c02 takes you up to 115%.

I use a c02 generator that runs on natural gas, it might cost me $10 a month for c02.

So how are you using it, just releasing it into the room and circulating it? I've got bulk tanks at the house ready to rock and roll. Curious if carbonated water would be beneficial too

Daaamn Dude !
Independent thought alert !!

When I was injecting CO2 into my planted aquarium, I considered this.

CO2 intake is specifically local to stomata found in the chloroplast. Only green plant matter (above ground in the case of Cannabis) can absorb CO2
Answering directly: no CO2 can be absorbed directly into root matter.
But,, CO2 in water becomes aqueous carbonic acid.
For a guy like me, with rock hard water, Carbonic acid can lower the ph of my water by 2 full points.
Atmospheres seek equilibrium ~ CO2 ends up floating in the breeze.

The gas will initially lower the Ph of the water and eventually end up raising the CO2 in the room.
It is win win.

If you got the gear, go for it !
Not like it will "throw anything off"

We spend all day long trying to make sure that we supply everything in abundance that the plant may need. This is just one more thing.

The generator is run on natural gas & controlled by an environmental controller which fires it up when c02 gets below 1000 ppm. It's a literal flame in a metal box, its either on or off, controller does all the work.
