True story but Fogerty's voice made their sound unique. Loved those guys in the early 70's, owned a copy of Green River. Played it til it snapped and popped? You find 10 music lovers and likely find 11 passionate opinions.
The one thing I give major credit to CCR for is accessibility. Every high school band of the day could cover 90% of CCR's catalog of 3 chord tunes after a couple of weeks of lessons. Add in a minor chord now and then - usually then - and you're up close to 100%.
Neat contest, and congrats to @Gentlemancorpse .

That's impressive.
" By April 4, The Beatles occupied the top five slots on the Billboard Hot 100 chart simultaneously with “Can’t Buy Me Love“ at No. 1, “Twist and Shout” at No. 2, “She Loves You” at No. 3, “I Want to Hold Your Hand” at No. 4, and “Please Please Me” at No. 5 (“I Want to Hold Your Hand” and “She Loves You” had already hit No. 1 in earlier weeks)."

I saw the movie, but never saw them in it, so I had to look up why?Google gave me this:
"Disappointed by the lackluster reception and underwhelmed by his own band's performance, Fogerty refused to allow CCR's music to be included in the 1970 documentary movie and triple-album soundtrack. "
Good point. This particular lyric, some say, was life changing:
"Tambourines and elephants are playin' in the band
Won't you take a ride on the flyin' spoon? Dood-n-doo-doo"
I'm kidding, of course. But on the flip side, one of the best movies of all time was based on a book titled "Dog Soldiers". Starring Nick Nolte and Tuesday Weld, the title was changed to "Who'll Stop the Rain" and featured some CCR tunes. You probably knew that.
I can't remember the last time I listened to the radio.

That's true. Fogerty realized he was much better and his voice was unique..... and that started the breakup. In the end, he screwed himself and his band mates pretty good and forever by his arrogance.True story but Fogerty's voice made their sound unique. No, didn't even know there was such a thing. I live a very sheltered life?Decent parody flick. Have you got a post from the CCR parody film?
