I do! & you know what i learned? It truly is the journey...how many of us had high hopes for a new pack & after all the time invested it was mehh. Versus the high you get when you crushed some unknown freebie & all your friends keeo asking about it..then because you didnt take cuts, theres a empty feeling inside , only to have known her once & never again....oh well THE HUNT CONTINES!!! Personally I think most here wouldn't just because of the simple fact everyone is waiting on space to get thru some collection....I know plenty of ppl that would pop them in a heartbeat tho..I've given away lots of seeds in which the only question ask is are these good....ummm I think?..Given multiple buddies pill bottles full of randoms over the years..

The mystery mix is a mix of regular and feminized photoperiod seeds, mostly Copa and Digital Genetics.

Would you? I've got hundreds of mixed seeds accumulated a dozen different ways. I'd thought about a Blind Date free mix, but I don't think I'd give garden space to seeds I had no idea what they'd produce, or the time it would take to run them. You think they would?

It's not for all, but some folks do enjoy the surprise, but I'm with you, I want to know exactly what I'm growing.

I have a baggie for those kind of seeds LOL! My OCD gets at me when I'm trimming, and if a seed came off and more than one strain is being worked on at a time, it goes in that bag since I can't be 100% on what it is.

I call it No Idea OG. I give them away.

I can't justify that personally; I very much prefer to know what I've got running, and it's like, what if I found a real stunner for a keeper and had no idea what it was? I can't tell everyone the thing they love is some mystery stuff that I found on the bottom of a tray or the floor LOL. I'm OCD and simply can't do that unless I had no other options, so I go with the stuff I know what it is.

I added the "No idea OG" because I thought it was funny, but, yeah those are mainly used to when a friend is like "Hey I wanna grow something" and if they don't care what it is and just want some seeds to play with, I grab from that one and hand them out.

I'd probably run them, but not for breeding. Hell, I've got strains galore and only those I trust are considered for breeding. You can bet that if I found my holy grail, I'd breed the shit out of it. All my creations are for my pleasure, so yeah! Opportunities arise, it would be a shame to toss opportunity into the trash bin!

funny thing is, alot of the most coveted "elites" are clouded in controversy. mostly because the pro breeders we all admire weren't very pro in their younger years.

Very good point! Everyone starts somewhere. 35 years ago, a friend gave me a 1-gallon wine bottle that was 1/2 full of all the random seeds he'd pulled from his bags over the years. I found 3 incredible strains. If I knew what I know now, I'd still be running them.
Full disclosure, I know I killed off many hundreds of 'also rans'. Probly thousands!
For this year, I plan on running quite a few unknown beans out in the deep woods. I would assume that I will find 2-3 winners that will get a remote cloning, cull all males and see what I see!
