Captain Sternn
In Bloom
So do we have anybody here besides me that's in the path of totality ? Does anybody have any special plans for viewing it ?
I'm in the path at my home, off the center line just a bit but I lose only a scant few seconds of totality because of it, so I'll have 4 minutes give or take. I don't have any particular plans, it arrives about 2 p.m. so I thought I might have a couple beers. My son will probably be on hand for it and I think the wife is coming home early. We have glasses, I will probably project it onto a poster size paper and not look very much. Not sure I want to trust glasses.
I sort of wanted to drive over to Vincennes, Indiana to the George Rogers Clark Memorial monument. A towering edifice of the NWA, it's a favorite place of mine anyway. It just happens that the centerline of the path crosses the Wabash River just a couple hundred yards or so from the monument. In the grand scale of things it could hardly be any closer. But, there's going to be an event there, with tv stations, so lots of people. Clouds could be a factor too, so home is fine.
And then there's this guy. Does anybody remember this from several years ago ? There's actually video of the incident, it happened in a park in England. It flew away and hasn't been seen since. I'm not saying it's going to be there BUT if the moon moving off the sun reveals that it is there, let us put our affairs in order. Just look at the cold steely-eyed malice in Peckers eye and tell me we're not boned.
