Grove bags

Looks like my 2 x 2lb. should arrive today and I have a good strain to drop in one and see what it's like down the road. I'm trimming out Forbidden Skittles x Raspberry Boogie currently and last night it looked like a pile of ground beef with ground cilantro shook all over it, and has a strong berry smell.

I’ve used them stuffed full, 2/3 full as recommended as well as almost empty. They are great in my opinion. The bigger bags were good for storage but as I opened em up to start grabbing nugs out I felt as though I should transfer an ounce or so out into a jar or smaller bag or something.

I have a couple of smaller groves for smoke.
Fill them when empty from a bigger grove :D

I love my groves.

There's something special about selecting from a pile of grove bags, and reaching your arm in one of the LB size to grab a handful for the day. I love them things, but I don't use the small ones for daily drivers any more after a few corner blow outs.

Hopefully now that my state is going legal, I'll be needing some of them big grove bag bin liners that they have.

I actually keep about 8 or so of the half pound to one pound bags by my side of the bed so I can get my Cheese and Chem easier :)

I don't see any real issues with them being not full or anything though, as currently my Susie Bag, is almost empty.... Only got a few ounces left of her right now.

I’m just finding out about these bags. So basically you hang dry like normal and then instead of jars, toss it in these and there’s no need to burp to cure? I’m getting ready to chop and thinking of giving them a shot.
My fav local grow supply shop has them in stock. If you just want to try them out, check around where you live to see if anyone has them as an alternative to ordering online.

I re-use the bags from the pipe tobacco I buy to roll my own cigarettes. Pretty much the same as these bags. If it kept my tobacco from going stale than why not my weed I said to myself. I just threw in some 62% Boost packs. They're convient but I still prefer jars, call me old school.

As long as you dry them the way the directions tell you too, yes, they do basically take care of burping and curing. The way you do this is pretty easy though; They say to hang them for 14 days, at 60 degrees, and at 60% RH, and make sure the fan isn't actually blowing directly on the branches (it'll dry them out too quick) and once you get to that point, they should be ready for the bag.

Personally, I can hang them a LOT longer, because the back garage can stay really cool without being freezing, and the RH can be up a little bit, but once they go in the bags, they cure themselves basically. They are multi layered, to allow moisture in and out of the bag, to keep it between 57 and 63 % RH. In Winter, when Michigan is a cold Desert, you may need a humidifier though; The bag can't hold moisture if it's not there. I have stuff from this past season that's been in a bag over a year now. I haven't tried heat sealing them, because, yeah no... I'm not trying to heat seal a bag, I'm in that bag every day as it is LOL.

If they go in too dry, a moist but not wet paper towel can moisten them back up, and then you close it back up and leave it for a week or two, and it should be back to normal. I've had that happen a few times.

I am trying them out this year. The weed is inside those bags and then the bags are kept inside a tote.
Short term everything has been real good. I get more nervous on long term so I split some of my harvest into gallon jars to hedge my bets and also compare later. To be honest I thought the weed in the 1 lb bags was maybe drying too fast. The 1/4 lb bags look great and next round/order I will also get some 1 oz bags for day to day usage. Terps are good and the weed burns well from the bags so far.

I use a big blue bin for some of the bags, simply because there's too many to leave out. If the bags get dry, and you have them in a bin or something, you can spray a small amount of water on the lid so that there's some moisture in there for the bags to absorb. Personally I've got a table in front of the closet right now with a humidifier on it. It's just easier to deal with, since inside the closet, are like.... 7 bags between half and one pound, and then a metal rack shelf with 3 layers of jars and bags. The rest have a humidifier too, since all the Cheese and Chem crosses are next to the bed, so, quite a few bags to keep moist in the dry season here. I haven't even bagged up most of my harvest yet; It's in Stasis (The back garage where it's 40 degrees and 65% RH, keeps pretty well out there) LOL.

I was going to try the 1/4lb bags. It seems like it is the most feasible. You confirmed my notions of the 1lb drying too quickly…..and I don’t really need a bag that big.
Are they manageable to get in and out of on the daily?…..the oz bags? I was going to continue to use jars for my daily use.

I have 1 ounce, 2 ounce, 1/4 pound and half pound Grove bags, don't have any 1 pound bags. They're all great. Will never cure in jars again. I will store cured weed in jars but the bags cure it with so much less work and attention. Was tired of wrecking terps curing in jars due to my inattentiveness. Love the one ounce for daily digging and the two ounce are perfect for carrying as our limit for carry is two ounces.

Have to say I put some dried seedy plants in vacuum sealed bags and that stuff cured nice too. Just have to be careful to not crush your buds. Broke into some Watermelon Haze to deseed it and it smelled amazing, almost skunky, old school weed smell. Gets me so stoned. Flavor is really spicy, better be careful with it or you'll be hacking, hit expands fast.

I have like two of the QP bags that I use when I need something more that size, and they work good too bro. I can't say my one pound bags dry out quicker, as it depends on how you fill them up. From what I understand, you want it filled up a decent amount, and leaving extra space allows extra air in the bag, which could change how it works out. We have like two total of the QP bags though, and I still have some Black Lime Special Reserve in one, and the other is empty right now awaiting more stuff to be put in as it's ready.

I'm pretty happy with the 1/4 lb bags so far. I wanted some 1/2 lb'ers intially, that were out of stock and got the 1's. But even those might be too big. I can't say for sure about the smaller bags yet but that would be my next order 1 ounce or 2 ounce . I've been hitting the Dracula I grew this summer on the daily out of the 1/4 lb bag. No issues on the bag operation and the reefer is in tip top shape.
Those 1 lb'er bags I got are freaking huge!

I actually got side smaller bags when the last order went through, and they look like 1 ounce bags to me. I can probably use them to test one I continue with my harvest and report back.

Lol yeah, the 1 pound bags, they might be big, but it sure beats the 8 or 10 jars I'd be burping instead.

Bro, did you see they make 55 Gallon Bags??? I can't imagine growing 55 pounds of the SAME strain lol. Not unless Michigan does away with all limits at least. Lol.
