Thanks, Pops.
I had no business starting so early . Growing season has only now begun, I was just being obstinate.
Watching the temps creep down. Perfect!
I don't have the attention span to run a light cycle in veg.
Light it up, let er buck 24/7

400W is all the room can take, right now. Foot print currently exceeds the single fixture.
I gotta keep driving them horses, whip'n em.
Gonna hang another luminaire. Blast em with both barrels when the sun goes down.

Winter, she is for growing.
I love it.
The colder it gets, the more torches I can light.
Bring it.

I hope you get to see atleast one female of the Dirt Stick. Such a unique Terp/Flavor profile!

Never had a disappointment from Big T's garden. I still haven't grown out the Piff cross from that Treasure Chest you sent me. Everything else I have already enjoyed . ( not that I need more Tangie, those were BIG packs you sent me. )

Those sour strawberry were the frostiest in the room.

Three Dirtstick entrants.
Gotta be some pink.

Got some happy plants.
Nodes are one after another.

I haven't split beans since 2021. That gave me plenty of time to agonize over "the list". The tray filled up quickly so there were abbreviations.
Some new stock and some old favorites. Not a plant in the room I'm not excited about.

The Great One !
99 days from soak.
Never mind the fancy optics, I could see the Amber on this thing from 10 ft away.
20220909_125419.jpg looks like we did manage to produce some seed. 2 years into this shizshow at a we are still breaking even.

Gotta take a page from my own book.

Not a complicated concept.
20220910_164646_(1).jpg ,, so I started giving them light, and I have been quite satisfied with the results ? 20220910_164833.jpg

The bright spot in the photo is my heart. The rays coming down is symbology for the love that I have for my son; who also happens to appear in this picture.

I don't know the area or the rate on this job. Pretty good size. Hips and ridges and valleys galore.

Finished up today.

Awkward composition, as I cropped- in order to respect everyone's privacy.
Speaking of which, I spotted this little one in their backyard. 20220914_124416_HDR.jpg
Certainly made me feel good to see an outdoor attempt equally feeble to mine.

Now that I am on a roll, I am going to brag it up- just a little bit. I also took the opportunity to work on a project with my youngest two.
Slightly less technical yet certainly as enjoyable.

We added a collection of dummy handles to our playhouse.
That lath of unfinished wood running up and down the side of the door opening was a stroke of genius. It acts as a stop for a baby gate, because, sometimes,, Dad needs a break.?

Been a whole week.

Biggies on the right
Above, 3x, SinCity
Below, RespectxJTR
20220914_221240_HDR.jpg

Lower right is actually one of my favorite plants in the room right now, I am really biased, but it just happens to be a Respect X JTR. Much shorter, in comparison to the others. The thing is barely taller than the pot. Also, I can see soil below the others. With heavy foliage, this one seems to hide all the dirt.
20220914_220700.jpg
Squat and nodes all day.
Popped right up after topping.

20220914_220906.jpg

Honestly, everything is staying nice and squat, considering it's age.
Here is more of the right side with the big ones in the background. 20220914_221055_HDR.jpg
Left side looking not too shabby.
20220914_221138_HDR.jpg

My usual method of operation involves letting these things sex out before I plant them in the common bed. Sexing, pruning, trimming, IPM, etc is so much easier when I can shuffle them around.
Although that may be convenient for me, I guess from the plants perspective, the longer it is in the common bed the farther it can root.
( big roots = big froots? )
I have transplanted at flip before, and the root balls did not appear ,afterward, to have traveled very far.
Dunno.
I have grown some big ass plants in small containers.
The surface area of the bed they are in is 1.1 meters sq. That is approximately 12 ft : so about a 3x4 tent. At the moment I have 28 plants in there which works out to 25 plants per square meter. If they were feminized I would already be out of room.
Working with a smaller number of plants like this, I should be able to fit and keep an eye on everyone.
I got the itch to plug these things in and shut out the lights.

Your faith is inspiring, Frimper.
These will be the smallest plants I have ever flipped, so I don't know what to expect.
As I'm already buying bud from the store ; it is seriously time to make some hay.

,,, won't be getting much hay off of this one. August 15th I could not sex it.

I am thinking those are seeded. Any other day of the week I would give them a little pinch to feel for a seed. However, I only see two or three of them, and they are too valuable to damage. Also, if you've noticed, that plant is completely infested. 20220911_093458_(1).jpg
At least they're not mites! The shape of the leg reminds me of aphids, perhaps Peach aphids.
I am not too keen on touching that plant, ( never mind smoking it ) , so hopefully I do pull a couple of seeds.
It is truly a Race Against Time because I am not bringing this thing inside and we are due for frost within the next couple of weeks. We shall see.
The pollen is full auto and the female is F1 from auto x photo
Hopefully I will end up with a few Purple Tangiematic beans.

It works!?? EB6F7064-27B1-4D0D-99A6-463A8A85E5D7.jpeg Killed the aphids no problem…
I hit them Aphids (hard) the night before (still outside) bringing an Agent Orange into the shower stall, three days later, did it again (kept it quarantined to that shower stall) and noticed it starting to work on the thrips too! Aphids we’re done!
Bottle says it can be used right up until the day before harvest , but as with any spray, I would suggest a bud wash.
Don’t count her out yet bro!

That is a product I would buy. Pyre is okay , I am down with Permethin as well. Choices are limited in Canada, Eh?
All that Gravendo, spinosad, ect, just cant be found up here. Hell, I can't even get a slug of Brondo.

The physical aspect of my media batch is tuned well. Drains well, holds well, dries well.
Lucky for me, as I have still not poked holes in any of these pails. They are just stewing in their own juices.
Transplant shock be damned.
Perched water table be damned.
10 days on these roots, and they are fuzzing out like mofos. 20220916_235003.jpg
Foolish me kept adding bunny dung to the finished pile all summer. With the addition of water it became an oversaturated mess. Sticks to the spade, and readily balls up into fists. I mixed in the red shale, 2.5 ft of chunky coir and a big 100 lb'r Sunshine bale of fine Canadian Spag Peat.

Last batch was too heavy, I like it nice and Light. Funny how my veg containers are sound vessels, whereas my flowering bed is bottomless. I love flood watering.
I can empty 10 L of water into the bed, just as fast as I can slop the pigs.
That would be the magical balance: a mix I can pour water through and still have enough bunny turds to feed the system.
Ideally there is enough muck in the medley to carry them through to harvest.

That sounds like a really good mix, and I’ve read on bunny dung as well actually,! Sounds like a good stable choice,Mother Nature tends to agree with your theory too! And even bunnies eat their own shit! Can’t be ALL that bad…lol
Heres a vid I started watching that might be of interest, (spoiler alert) the guy separates the nitrates from the dirt his bunnies do their business on.. (he’s making saltpetre, but you don’t have to…lol)

As for the formula 420, I found it at Peavy mart, then I noticed the grow shop has it too for probably somewhat the same price (35 bucks or so… )
And you’re absolutely right!.. it’s almost cruelty with all the stuff we can’t get here EH!?..
Frustrating is such an understatement!….lol

Blast the aphids off with a hose first. Try using non-scented dish soap mixed with water and spray the affected plants
