Unfortunately drove by yesterday and some dickhead, probably a little dickhead kid like I used to be, kicked them all over and broke them.
Edit: Google saying its a fly algar or jewelled amanita? Sound right? Edible?
Possibly a psathyrella, did you get a picture of the gills? Very cool cluster.View attachment 88046
Noticed these today
They look like amanita muscaria var. guessowii. Not technically edible, but they do contain ibotenic acid, which can be decarboxylated into muscimol.Peeped these the other day while working. Not sure what the called though.

Just hunting pics. Besides morals or chicken of the woods I'm nervous about my ability to correctly identify any mushroom. So I just watch them grow. They look like amanita muscaria var. guessowii. Not technically edible, but they do contain ibotenic acid, which can be decarboxylated into muscimol.
In my teens my buddy and I chopped some up and made a ramen mushroom stew. We both ended up puking it up and not tripping much at all, probably because we had failed to decarb them properly.
There are some poisonous lookalikes that you have to watch out for, so I'd be extra careful if you ever plan on hunting for these.
