The 5th one, sadly did not make it!
One good thing did come from it, during the post mortem, trying to figure out why it was a lagger, as I could not see why she bellied up.
I found a revolting new 4" nursery pot phenomena, I've not experienced before. Partially un-poked weep holes, or fully un-poked weep holes!
When I buy a new stack of 4' nursery pots from the grow shop, I buy double what I need.
As I pull her lifeless potted body from the medium, I saw brown roots.
So, why? Medium is very wet, I make a very areated medium, it's not that.
So as I inspect the 4" I take notice the weep holes have not been punched all the way through!
All 4 are blocked! I grab the stack, I keep on hand, all were unused yet, and in that stack 18-20 of them, over half had unpunched (all the way through) holes, or still had the circle still holding tight in the hole.
Well, mindblow! That was totally off my radar, as now I'll be checking at purchase from now on.
They are all opened now, but not till I killed one.
