All of the organisms / products in this paper are forms of bio control. Biocontrol organisms can be separated into a few different categories
F, B, N, V.
That is the secret decoder ring
Entomopathogenic,
Fungi, (Venerate Gravendo)
Bacteria, (BTi, a, Spinosad)
Nematode,
Virus

Once you have the acronyms down, the paper becomes easier to read.
TLDR ?

I'm not a scientist, and I'm not necessarily qualified to interpret any of this information. Although, from what I gather:
Elevated humidity benefits the activation of the product.
Elevated humidity will foster the relationship with the target pest.
Prolonged elevated humidity will keep the product active.
Elevated temp (+ 25° C) benefits all products

Went for another round.
Venerate.
Started spraying out lights out. I was brushing 13 celsius, in doing so I managed to maintain minimum 70% relative humidity for 12 hours, during dark.
I moved all the lamps to the ceiling at 50% power, and vented the room to the humid lung. Room held 50%rh, during lights on , 19C.
Now that the lights are off again, I have cranked up the heat.

You are probably wondering right now, 'why doesn't this guy have a humidifier?'
Two things.
First, Calcium. After only 12 hours of running the humidifier, I can write my name on any surface in the room. After a week my canopy would be glistening white, and unable to receive light ; which would be inconsequential, because the bulbs would be caked over by then.
Yeah, I could buy distilled water, but that's not going to happen.
Additionally, I only have one humidifier. The kids are fighting over it on the daily, to try to ubate the nosebleeds.

Anyhoo, Garden is looking boss, I got nothing to complain about.

U might be right about botaniguard being it’s alive and its limits to be effective in that enviroment . This is why I emailed them ur article and questions . But Both venerate and Grandevo are not alive fungus , it’s heat treated and won’t have those limits , if u want I can email marrone too? . even with the high level lab requirments of finalized crop lab testing venerste and Grandevo can be sprayed and used till day of harvest because those products will not be tested as a alive fungus or issue unlike botaniguard even thou this fungus isn’t bad for a LP/commercial grower it’s that lab test would count you failed inless u spray 3vweeks before harvest (guide says that) , but if your a homegrower there’s no reason u can’t keep spraying it till day of harvest like Grandevo/venerate cause that fungus isn’t dangerous in anyway. The laws they made it for rec/medical lp’s/commerical aren’t logical and also really deter organics/no till growing and really supporting lab-level grown products when really it’s not needed for that level . I asked bioworks and that was there general answer , those limits were merely based on for LP lab approval not logical safety

Overthinking leads to over-reading.
I am okay with that.

By researching this mite study I understand that:
-If I apply sulfur , I will have a egg kill rate of less than 10%
-If I double the dosage, I will still have a kill rate of less than 10%
-If I double the dosage, and sweat the humidity up to 90%, I will still have a kill rate of less than 10%
-At only half the dosage, only above 90% rh, and only above 30 degrees Celsius, I will have an egg kill rate of nearly 100%

No, this does not speak to other products, yet, I don't think it is a huge leap to acknowledge that other products may function best under specific environmental conditions.

I am comfortable to tilt the table, flip it around, and take another position.
That being said, I have yet to find any documentation that says that humidity or temperature are inconsequential bacterial and fungal bio controls.

Looks like it was run over by a forklift, but I don't see any tire tracks.
Marked repaired, in my town.
The original tape was still adhered to the card, I don't believe it was inspected.

Taping them in kept them from going all Loosey Goosey.

Hey, Mang. I missed ya when you weren't here.
My Mum once told me that when she doesn't hear from her kids, she knows that things are going really good for them, or bad.
A simple observation, but I still think about it sometimes ,and the implications.

Things here is good.

Usually, I got a shopping list. Holding what matches and tossing the rest of the males in real time.
I don't really have a plan, so I was content to see what came up. I want to say that I am male heavy but it seems like a good 50/50 split. Feels kind of silly, with 20 males lording over the garden. I just wanted to enjoy my cake for a bit, I think I'll eat it tonight.
I'm just spoiled cuz I've had lots of Female luck this season.
The only two ScarletQueens both came up male,,,

So Billy is driving out in the country, and he notices these really odd birds ripping around the field.
He is super curious, so he stops to talk to the farmer.
" 'Yep, well' the farmer begins his sentence in the formal fashion ' the boy and the Mrs are always hogging the drumsticks, and that doesn't leave any for me. I bred these three-legged chickens so we could all have one"
"That is amazing", Billy exclaims, "how do they taste/smell ?"

'Dunno', the old boys says, 'never been able to catch one'

Those Scarlet Queens are my three-legged chickens. I have made seeds with it in the past, but have never been able to crack one.
I have never mixed pollen before, and since I have two of them I figure I am giving it a go.
Try again.
More of a threesome, then an open pollination.

Girls is doing girl stuff.

If I were to look hard enough, I think I would find everything sexed out.
I hosed down the empty East bed with a sludge of sulfur and DE.

Indulging my curiosities, I have been playing a little game. Tonight, we discover the results. I am Brewing up a batch of bro-science, and you are all invited.
I mentioned that I had been 'Loosely' separating them.
Believing that I had identified a tell, I attempted to separate the boys from the girls before the 25 day mark. Even the slightest indication, and it got tossed to the upper deck. I think I have discovered a way to identify males, at 3 Weeks of age.
Perhaps it is old news, perhaps I am on to something.
Tonight , we will see if I am full of shit.

,,,And certainly I imply, 'in this instance'.
I reserve the right to have my baloney evaluated on a case-by-case basis. 🐇

I woke up to a snow covered world this morning and a frozen pond. We need the moisture, the cold not so much.

Looks like your experiments/projects are cruising along. Good luck catching the chicken. :)

I just realized that I've started to picture you as Doc Brown, in your outbuildings, tinkering with your DeLorean. ;)

Prolly the 1.21 jiggywatts.
Power corrupts

Was a hell of a week.
I can't get into my garden until after midnight, so sometimes I find it difficult to find the motivation that late in the day. To complicate things in my daughter has a wicked case of pneumonia.
Trying to stay firm on the 15th, I was harvesting, trimming, disinfecting, transitioning, and also trying to nurse my babie sprouts.
Temperature has been all over the map, and that never helps.

Not only did I survive till the weekend, but I did nail my target.
School is out in 100 days, and that's all I need.

Since I lost my Nursery in the basement; now entirely relegated to the garage, I have no veg space.
This 12:12 dictum solves that, but I have lost 40% of previously available flowering space. Took me a couple years to really learn my growing space, but I think I have it down now. This will be the first year I am harvesting a fourth cut.

Sounds honky dory, although I am anticipating an ugly demon early June. Fourth crop means overlap, so I will be flowering in both beds. Ample DLI will be an issue.
Eventually, my endless supply of cold air is going to come to an end. 2 weeks out of every 52 I wish gonna wishbI had . Fear she's going to get a might toasty in there running that many lumineers.

Good luck catching the chicken. :)

Got @Frimpong little chickies sitting on Styrofoam peanuts at the moment. Hiding in a corrugated box
12 soaked, 12 sprouts.

I have been playing a little game. Tonight, we discover the results.

Prior to the 21 day mark I pulled 20 plants that I suspected were males.

1- remains unsexed
1- possible Herm
3- were female
15- were male

Certainly not reliable, but I may get better at it. Maybe it's old news, but personally, I have never seen this method suggested.

Ignore the branches.
Typically, I would get a plant horizontal, and start examining the auxiliaries with a magnifying glass. Is it a hair?
Is it a claw?
Who knows

Put the plant down.
Get your head directly over top of it. Start slowly rotating.
Bullseye, dead center, you are observing the foremost growing tip.
This is an exercise, of men staring at goats.
A female plant will only present a brambled mass of emerging leaf.
Keep staring, until you see a gap.
Only a male will show a gap.
Again, a female will do nothing but push leaf tips into the very centre.
Eventually, a male will show a void.
The moment that growth epicenter shows dead space, that's a male.
And we are talking tiny, the tip of a pencil.
As a matter of course, that male will eventually produce a knob that looks like an acorn.

Remember that kids game, operation?
Imagine spearing a plant, straight down with a pencil.
If the lead hits leaf, it's a girl.
If the drawing tip disappears into the plant, without lighting up the man's nose, it's a boy.
20240323_132400.jpg

Try it out. It's not completely reliable, but at 4 weeks I have all of my plants completely sexed out.

Left me with just one GG75 and PinePomme, a lone Funeral Cookie, and a single Plushberry×BRomulan.
Skunked on ScarletQueen Feborns, also PigWhistle.

Hung onto Scarlet Queen males, and for the moment, JTRespectxZamal, and the PlushBRom.

Dug the bed out, about the depth of the cups, pulled around 35G of media.
20240401_021705.jpg
I have pails of ready media , but it still needs a day or two in order to warm up. Perhaps I will pour warm water through it tonight, get things speeding along.
Got 28 heading to the big show.
The veg headstart is apparent all around. Starting to see a few branches. This will end up taller, but I got lots of space.

Eight of the tallest across the back.
I want access to my plants because I need to get my spray bottle all up in there, so I went with orchard rows of 5 to fill the remainder.
Hoping to get better spray coverage with this footprint

There are many things that I had never considered until my son came up Lefty.
That photo above is a right-handed Garden. I do most of my work from the exact same perspective. My hvac/ plumbing stack prevents me from walking much further into the room. I need the rows to curve along the same plane as my elbow on my right arm in order to reach the back of the bed.
Weird lefty stuff I never would have thought about.

I will miss the blue square of tape that has been haunting the rear wall for a couple years.
Got classy and put a sticker over it.

How far along are you tropcookies @Senokai ? Never count them Tangies out. They wanna get big, but they dont show it. I tend to pull the Tangie crosses last, because they get fatter and fatter until the bitter end. Feed em till they drop dead.
