Genesis has more than helmet issues
Thinking the technical term would be 'right shiite' (Sean Connery accent, make those words rhyme)

Weakly update.
I give up.
All three of these are bunk.

Poopy because they were my 'control group' autos.
Started with:
confirmed Autos - Genesis
confirmed Photos- Respect
maybe Auto - Mandarines

Still, there remains 4 weeks of outdoor veg time.
If I watch the Respect closely enough, I should have a decisive answer on the Mandarines.

These are all potted, I can take them into the garage and hose them down with 420 Permethrin
Sulfur would be my first preference with your limited options.

Sulfur won't kill thrips, which those definitely are.

I recommend napalm.

Really though, the most effective readily available thrip solution I came across up there was a glycerin/tea tree oil/neem oil/clove oil/capsaicin foliar. But it's also entirely possible that your permethrin solution is more effective.

Gotta find someone Stateside to send up the heavy artillery like some PFR-97. Nobody exports death like America.

Vaporizing works extremely well for me.

Yeah, micronized sulfur is the shit. I use it all through veg.

But a couple things on that...

First, the label doesn't even say that it'll kill them. Even if it did, it's an uncorroborated claim that's on there to sell the product. Diatomaceous Earth labels say that it kills insects too, but I've watched fungus gnats crawl on it- as I have thrips on leaves that have just gotten a sulfur foliar.

I tend to look for academic sources like this when it comes to all things gardening. I trust the University of California a lot more than a marketing tactic when it comes to facts, and sulfur is nowhere to be found on their IPM recommendations for thrips.

with your limited options.
Ain't that the truth !

My kids can buy Kinder Surprise eggs at the store with no id, and I can't even be trusted with Spinosad bacteria from the Caribbean.

This is all I got. ,,, besides Malathion.

Sucks that my options oppose each other.
This is the sulfur label

How can I translate that oil warning ?
do not use sulfur if you have applied oil 29 days ago
,, and also do not use oil for 29 days after sulfur??

In 30 days these plants will have flowers on them, and I am not keen to spray buds.

Also warns about + 24C
So for today anyway, sulfur is out of the question.

7 am, it was 14C when I made this pot of coffee. I still have my toque on.
Record in this town is 42.2 C
Good day for a swim.

Central air is unbalanced.
Frosty in the basement
Chilly on the main floor
Hot upstairs.
I put in a window shaker, up there, yesterday, in hopes to apply spot cooling. I haven't masked it off yet, I just shoved a teddy bear in the void.

No shit, my cat just jumped out of the second story window.
Landed on the trunk of my Mercury
Acts like its no thing.

4 weeks.

I am starting to think that these are not autos
20230803_080922.jpg

Hella nice, tho.
Biggest plants I've ever grown, outdoors.
Wherein lies the problem. I cannot camouflage these, anymore. They are not inconspicuous. I would prefer to have the sex determined before I adopt them out or guérilla
20230803_080954.jpg

As much as I hate to do it, I may bring these indoors under 24-hour light. 20230803_081031.jpg

The product is inconsequential, I just want to discover if these are Autos so I can move forward with breeding them

Honestly, these are more like 5 weeks.
No action.
Am I just being impatient?

I'd imagine that putting them inside under 10/14 would show sex faster than 24/0, autos or no.

Indeed, although I need to prove they are autos.
In order to do that, I need to maintain conditions where the Autos will flower, and the photos will continue to veg.
In my experience, 24-hour light will prolong sexing in photoperiod plants.
If they will flower under 24-hour light, I can confirm that they are autoflowers.

Ahhhhhh yes. Got you. Fair point.

Worst case scenario they're photos and just get enormous over the next 6 months inside. :ROFLMAO:

Yeah, you are reading my mind
Contemplating my winter strategy, already.

Has a stance, my garage only has passive air intake. I can't start growing in there until the nights are consistently below 10 Celsius.
If I get my way, and am able to install active cold air intake, I should be able to start growing earlier in the fall. I have been considering a split winter grow. Aiming for the 'shoulder seasons' .
Ideally the daytime temperatures are high enough that I don't need as much active Heat during the day, when the lights are out. If I can draw enough cold, night-time air, I can run my HIDs without overheating.
Figure I could start flowering 12s, even as soon as a few weeks from now.
I need to prove up these Mandarines, so I can get on with the show !!

The Smalls
Punky, but clever enough to avoid listening fatigue.

Fun fact, start with the white Album, as it is actually their first work, chronologically.
They lost their rights to the first album, and ended up releasing it second. If that makes sense.

I revisit them often, and enjoy listening to their albums in order.
It is a good story
Every album is more refined , in both presentation, and songwriting.
They start off juvenile, thrashy brats; and end up maturing into Masters.
