Definitely a boy, might let him ride a while then toss him outside, see if he can tough it out long enough to make some pollen for me because damn, look at that structure for a male! That's definitely desirable to me.

Secret Chief over there looking definitely like a girl so all's not totally lost.

I've never been for feminized seeds but also never grown indoors, I definitely understand it now lol

Any feedback from anyone? We looking pretty normal for two plants on 18/6 then 12/12 at ~3 months old? How's my training looking? I'm just using garden staples, twist ties, and clips. These are definitely budget lights, nothing fancy there, curious to see if I'd get better results with stronger ones, the real test oughta be during flowering.

Your grow game looks mighty fine from here, amigo, and your plans sound good to me. You're right about fem seeds, especially indoors with plant restrictions. There\s a lot of fine fem seedmakers. Definitely check out Eso Seeds for great pricing on fire crosses.

You're looking alright man. I was reading through your thread, I'm surprised you haven't got more replies.

I see this is your first indoor. Things are looking decent which is good cause It can be tough when you're first getting started.

I always told guys to keep it simple in the beginning. Stick to the basics. Light, soil and ventilation. No need for fancy recipes. What you do need is a couple good tools, a decent ph meter or test kit and a digital therm/hygrometer. Later a PPM meter. These let you know what's what and takes the guess work out of a lot of issues.

Your lights should be fine. Are they the newest, latest & greatest? Probably not but King lights were fetching some pretty good bucks just a couple years ago... You got a deal, they came in a package so use them. No doubt, they'll put some gardens under your belt.

In the future, unless your plan is to veg forever and train large plants, try using smaller pots. Smaller pots use less soil, less nutrient and can be easier to maintain. They feed faster, flush better and are easier to collect and measure run off... Then you'll actually understand what's going on in the soil. Most are surprised to know a 2 gallon pot can yield an ounce and a half easily. Multiply that by 4 or maybe 9 plants per light and you'd be a happy guy.

If you want to see those happy looking plants all the time learn about VPD or Vapor Pressure Deficit. It's basically getting the temperature and humidity within a band where the plants thrive best. Ideally this would be done with AC and dehumidification, however it can be spartanly achieved with ventilation using your carbon scrubber on a rheostat above your grow. Fan runs 24/7 at the right speed to keep cool bottom air up through your canopy and while keeping the heat out of the top of your tent. Hell, you're already set up. Just gotta find and maintain the sweet spot.

Don't worry about keeping males or breeding now. Pop a pack of beans and work with the best one you can find. Choose and keep a Mother. Learn how to clone in a simple dome, using plugs or rockwool. Pick a method and master it. Keep it simple and uniform so you can decipher the results. Working several plants of the same strain makes leaning easier. You can even practice different pruning techniques like super cropping and LST and see the differences in growth and yield.

Sorry if this got out of hand, I read you're fairly green indoors and were questioning your success. I'm just trying to help.

You really are lookin' pretty good. Ahead of the curve for sure.

Keep posting your growth!

Thanks man, I appreciate it! I've got the majority of the tools already, very familiar with outdoors and dabbled in breeding, have a line of Sweet Tart I've been working since 2014ish.

I've definitely gotta work on my pruning and defoliation techniques, outside I usually just top a few times and let em rip, no real need to train and pickleaves when you're in full sun. so that's all new to me, too. I'm happy to report my humidity is actually on the low side in the tent, which is the exact opposite thing I work with outside in the South lol I have an extra fan that I haven't bothered to plumb in yet, the temps have fallen to ~70-75 with the winter in full swing.

I'm high ?

Appreciate all the advice, glad everything looks as it should! I do like the environmental control aspects, just wish we could blast those fuckers as well as the old Sun can!

Popping a bunch of backstock of bagseeds I've collected over the years to try and knock down the seed bank a bit, anyone have suggestions for a mass pheno hunt?

Was thinking of running them 12/12 from the get go til they show sex and a peek at structure, then culling and continuing with the winners.

Is this a sound approach?
