I didn't read the linked article, but the ones I read made it sound like a battle between the boffins and the beancounters. Altman was pushing for, and promising, a product the geeks weren't prepared to produce.

That will be an often-fought battle in the coming years.
Every once n a while I poke my head up to see what's going on, not informed on it just inserting what I know humanity is capable of.

You said it pretty well. I have more faith in the boffins than the beancounters, go team utopian society lol.

That I'd love to run.
May need some snips of Jenny too if
Both can be done, I have a spare Jenny mom can turn it into snips and keep my fg to myself.
Supercropping? Or just supports?
Probably just support, I haven't even looked up any grow stats for gg4, Lol.

GG is my benchmark, perfect mid stretch, They do need support towards the ends though, depending on how many times you topped. Stoked for this

20231120_134906.jpg They've been topped once (left side) and are ready for transplant, kinda out growing everything else. From the 3 plants I have over 10 tops already and also don't want to flip before I get confirmed roots on cuts taken a few days ago.

They just got BioCeres 1t, Grandevo 1t, thermx70 1drop diluted foliar ~2\3 quart today. Thinking about going back to botanigard, I feel like it sprayed easier (nozzle cloging).

Should be able to move them over this evening if I get a final clean and filter change done.

Gonna end up picking and choosing which get flowered I think 🤔 space is gonna get tight but I am happy with the stem rub on that Lao Sa that took over a month to pop true leaves.

Taking another shot at sour bubble and my CnC F3s, some Bakehouse from @Frosty78 and Afgaan90 preservation (RSC thanks @Deebs ) 20231121_083629.jpg
The hemp - from Oregon CBD / @GTR Seeds Tropicolada 4V seedless, Stem Cell and Sour Special Sauce
20231121_083623.jpg
all pacs had more seeds than advertised, the Stem Cell has a couple odd balls but still 10 viable enough at least by my eye.

Transaction process was smooth, glitch at checkout with a sale code but a quick email and correspondence resulted in me getting a freebie more aligned with my needs.

Germ rates look ok for everything except the Afgaan 90 is at 25% but it looks like a couple more may still come up. Mango Biche was 6/10 (at least 1 was crushed in transport). Couple may go 1/3 but most are 2/3 or better.

The older seedlings should be ready for transplant, gave them and veg plants 1/2 strength espoma Tomato! (thought it was tomatone? maybe different product?).

Took cuts of stardawg, might have to replace the Rhodium in the shed with it, but I want to be sure I give the Rh enough time for transplant recovery before making a decision. Cut didn't make it, could pull the plant and turn it into cuts and try again too.

Gonna get the watering carrots and trellis corners set up today.

CBG , not sure if u knew this or not. Harvest it a lil premature . reason is because cbg is most dominant in that stage and if more mature it converts to cbd. Also cbg is super temp sensitive so be weary of that when making extracts/edibles or w/e

i honestly liked the cbg I grew, it was super de-fogging/daytime buzz and good combo for the rso, much love and hope u find some good stuff bro!

Not lookin' great for the Afgaan 90, one is most likely going to dampen off, another is at the surface, keeping them under a dome for the moment but looks like I'll be happy with two.

One of the Bakehouse is stalled at the surface too, for whatever reason I went digging in the 3rd hole and found the seed un-cracked so I fixed that.

One of the Stem Cell CBG is probably out, stalled at surface. 2 x sour bubble are up as are 3x CnC, 3x Tropcicolada triploid type II and 1x Sour Special Sauce CBD.

Sucked on 6x Miel de Regaliz x Nevile's Haze and spit them into their holes, looking to hit one with some mango biche.

Decided to pull the Rhodium in the shed and found out why it was doing poorly. There was a dry pocket in the 2x4 and the rootball was dried out, it was starting to send out new roots but I decided to pull it back into veg for rehab. Replaced it with Stardawg and will be monitoring that bed closely. Hit it with some yucca too.

Rhodium is already looking better. I will probably find a way to get it in the shed, even if I have it in a seperate pot.

Down to one sour bubble, took the dome off, tent is at 70% rh. Transplanted a few of the older seedlings but stopped when I almost killed a BBM. Need to wait a few more days for roots to fill in.

Need to do Ca and Mg foliars and a sulfur burn in the shed, gg4 is looking for Mg and LaoSa wants Ca. I'll do the burn tonight then epsom and Ca foliars a couple days apart before starting Botanigard replacement of BioCeres. If my memory is right the Botanigard doesn't clog the nozzle and "lays down" much better, better over all with respect to application. If not I'll be sure to revise my position, but looks like the petroleum in Botanigard is more + than - imo.

Sulfur burn went well last night.
Software update now groups automations and doesn't seem to allow conflicting configurations. Going to set up an IPM automation so I can easily switch the environmentals just by activating/deactivating the right automation groups. They made quite a few updates, I need to look into them to take full advantage.

I ordered a "Type A" adapter and another "Type B". Speculating about the wite pin outs I stumbled on some correlating information that leads me to belive the ac infinty units may output a 5v pwm signal. This wouldn't do it for most drivers so I think the A type adapters are an amplifiers/step up transformers.

Flip in a few days. Need to mulch. 7-800 ppfd at canopy on level 5

Did an epsom foliar couple days ago 2t in 48 oz and I didn't use all of it.

Had to do a factory reset on the 69pro, it wasn't updating the history log in the app. Had to re-enter the automation info.

Switching to the "Type A" adapter did resolve the flicker issue but created another in that I now want a new hlg-600 driver with remote dimming to replace the two 320s on the 2x4's light.

Decide against the trellis, I hate them anyway. Not sure what I was thinking, it would just make it tough to move around.

MDR x NH went 3/6 by the "spit in the cup" method.

Is that first pic of the GG4? Leaves look familiar. Lol.
Still no roots showing, but the cuts are still happy and healthy looking.
Is that a Jenny on the right of the second pic? Those look familiar as well. Lol

Are those just the A type driver for those 320's?

Bamboo stakes and plant ties imho. Put em where ya need em.

:rastajoint::punkrocker:Must say always love your grow style and man your setup is so fire, those beds are perfect size for notill . always love watching your grow Journal and thanks for doing them :geek: :alien:
Appreciate the kind words, If you have the space I don't know if there is a better option. It's not like they're portable, lol. I don't think living soil can really be done in much smaller container. By that I mean, I think it takes more user input.

I need to do a better job managing moisture during my next shutdown and might do a cover crop or something to keep the miceobiome at least somewhat active.

3x gg4 1x Rhodium on the left, has similar leaf thing.
Is that a Jenny on the right of the second pic? Those look familiar as well. Lol
Lao Sa very similar growth habit, I think I was telling you how she likes to send new growth shoots from node nuckles.

Edit - Yeah, they're type a meanwells.

Cal carb foliar this morning. Was real nice not having to dink with the 3x3 light to get it back to the same brightness. Just set to level 1 for foliar then back to 5 (bumped to 6 ~900 ppfd after a bit).

I should probably just re-wire the lights so they run off the 600's only. Until/unless I add CO2 I won't be able turn them all the way up anyway.

@JL2G Since the 600's each have 2 sets of leads powering the cobs each set is currently powering 6 COBS for a total of 24 and the other light has 7 COBS on each driver (only ne set of leads on the 320s) can I just put 7 more cobs on each 600 by using a + from one set of leads and a - from the other?

That 900 reading, what distance from canopy? Just curious.

Oh just hit the nitrous button already, you know you want too. 😏😏😏

I'd have to look up the specs, but does the 600 even have capacity for more than 6 per lead in its V rating?

I don't think so, i think youd have backfeed issues of some sort.
I know in ac it's a big no no, but not 100% as to how it'd apply to DC. But am assuming it'd cause issues because of the V discrepancy between channels.
But there's only one way to see for sure. Lol.
Imho the worst case scenario is it won't fire up if its not kosher.
If you violate the drivers safety parameters it'll just shut itself down or not fire up.
I've messed with plenty of meanwell drivers while powered up, and forced them to temporarily cut out when I shorted them on accident, and or touched unfriendly spots.
Was doing that when I was trying to repair those 132 qb panels, and other previous experiments I've done. Lol, soldering on a lit up board, that's me. 🤣

Parallel wiring, the more cobs I put on there is actually a voltage drop.

Honestly I think they each come off the same respective (+ or -) bus. The block diagram that shows the detection circuit only has one + and - while the one that shows the physical measurements has two sets.

Ere, old my bong.

1270W Max 17 sq. ft 8-900 ppfd @ 12-18in from light, roughly at canopy height. Roughly 50W less with 38 COBs on the 2 drivers vs. 24, result of voltage drop in parallel.

Figured even if I totally rewired, I'd have to drop two COBs or add 4 in order to balance the load, can't split 14 evenly 4 ways.

I've dialed it back to 7 and sitting around 6-700 ppfd, this is just a smidge below where they were for the previous part of the day.

Before the light wasn't level so readings were more erratic. I may reconfigure the lights a little by moving some cobs closer together.

Side note, Lao Sa had enough for the day with 4hrs to go.
