Man I was shocked when I emailed Mike and he confirmed he has closed. I should have stocked up on BB and C99. I wish him the best, but it feels sad. I first grew his gear in 2012. I guess I’ll hang on to my NL and Sweet Skunk until I have the space to do a preservation run.

He's been talking about it for over a year, at least in emails. It was in the works when he started offering clones.
He's been grey market so long, it must feel good not to have any legal worries anymore.

He taught me some good stuff and provided me with great genetics. I hope his next venture is all he hopes for.
I'm lucky enough to have a nice stash of his 4 main lines, the NL, SS, BB and C99 so I can wish him well with only a little bit of pain.

@Hitch Here's some psbc bb that I just popped. Thought it might ease your withdrawal. ; )

It helped lol. Guess I’ll be watching those.

Is it strange that I’m actually a little melancholy about it? Feels like the end of an era. I was excited when I saw ‘aspiring licensee’ pop up on his site a year or two ago. I definitely should have picked up some BB and C99 instead of the f1’s last year just to round out the ibl's. Where else could you pick up 4 packs of old school fire for a hundred bucks? And of course he was always generous to boot.

Nope. If I'd found out about it out-of-the-blue I'd feel like I'd been smacked in the face. He was the first breeder I ever just shot the shit with and exchanged emails with about stuff other than orders. He's a good man.

Only reason it didn't bother me is that I knew and was able to prepare. I'm actually surprised he was open as long as he was, given how gung-ho he was about the new gig.

I agree he was a nice guy. I never had a long conversation with him, but he always answered every single email I ever sent him. Even though I know he was busy.

Smacked in the face. That’s about right.
