Thank you. I have quite a few seeds still. You're right, there's nothing to lose. Couple hot days coming up this week, then we'll divide. Your Queen is beautiful, but I have to admit I'm chasing that juice....?I got more. No pressure. I'll send you another flip full. ?
I got a pretty lady flowering out now. No blood
Outdoors is a pain for me this year also. I lost way too many plants to the elements, both canna and veggies.I'm a dick for not updating my journal. Struggling to stay motivated. Definitely have some plants going, but that low grade, persistent, dry heatwave of May & June really stunted things, and killed a lot. Surprisingly, just regular old hybrids have been the most resilient, instead of landrace stuff like Azad Kashmir and Jalalabad Star...
Onwards - this was almost a DM to @Brokehoe , but figured "why be so secretive?'"
4 Queen of the Damned plants survived. First one revealed gender a couple days back (male). Segregated it and finally clipped the tip. We indeed have blood!!
Figuring on attempting to capture a little dust and paint it on a (hopeful) QOTD lady branch on down the line.

Michigan outdoor seems to be doing pretty well. I'll help you unpack
Did the Cheese survive??
Yes - there are a couple that survived - still getting up, but will mention you for sure when there's something to show.@UncleB , any pictures of JS outdoor?
Hey UncleB, how’s it going there? Are you getting any spectacular summer storms? I love how you’re getting stuff to grow, when I lived there for a few months it was even hotter than where I live and that was in the spring time lol. With all that rock maybe use it as medium and do some outdoor hydro haha. Hope all is well w you and family.
I finally got a Homer's Donuts that I think is a girl..... 8th attempt, I did kill 2 thru neglect and 5 boys. Very curious on the smoke from this cross. I lost the BFT mom, she was a stellar cake leaner. Best cake flavor I've grown. Hope you get something good!Said adios to the first outdoor photoperiod to get marched to the gallows this summer:
Homer's Donuts, which was a gift from @Willie and his Crush Genetics via the PH 2nd Anniversary blowout. 5 out of 6 seedlings survived the brutal May/June. Of the 4 remaining, 1 is questionable, and 3 are slow to show - but giving a female vibe...
p.s. those leaves made it into yesterday's and today's Arugula salad.

Personally no, but through others NOLO bait.Been plagued this summer by miniature lime-green grasshoppers that do a lot of damage - fast. Tried pretty much everything, but they seem impervious. Even gave the ol' pyrethrin a shot, and didn't get leaf curl like @Frosty78, but did manage to kill a tender Apollonia XX seedling, and hurt a couple of it's siblings.
The pic below is NOT one of the green grasshoppers, but was killed yesterday using the only technique I've got. Just bring your thumb straight down and squeeze them on the leaf....
If anyone has had success w/ an organic measure, I'd love to know.

You can order some online if you'd like. That's how we get Ladybugs. They start off incredibly small.
Haven't seen a praying mantis in a long time...
