If they're still soaking in a cup of water I wouldn't leave them there for too long after you see tap roots, they can actually drown. I'm not a soaker anymore so I'm not sure how long you can leave them anymore, but when I did I always moved them to their medium as soon as I saw the tap.
I am using a let them float til the tap root is long enough method. These taps are only a couple millimeter long as it's been about 24 hours now. If they sink, into a paper towel they go. If they stay floating, they should crack and be good to go. I think prior I was using too much water in the paper towels and drowning them. Kyle Kushman has a great video on YouTube and this video is basically where I learned it.

Yeah, I hate the paper towel method. I always find it's too easy to screw up. I start in rapid rooters these days, or straight into premoistened medium (soil or coco)

You can plant virtually the instant you see tap roots though, the longer they are, the harder they are to work with.

Is this the Kushman video your referring too btw?

Just curious cause I wanted to see exactly the steps you were following

Seeds have all cracked open and have been planted directly into Rockwool 1.5 x 1.5 inch cubes ( I believe ). I removed the dome they are under for a brief picture.

Cubes are labeled vertically not horizontally. Will need to remove 3 if they all sprout. From left to right, Apple Fritter, Gorilla Dosha, Hot Sauce and Platinum Gorilla. Temps currently are 81F with a respected 62% humidity level without the use of a humidifier.

Yes, that's the one. I try to avoid paper towels if I don't need them. Once I see the seed is cracked and the root is starting to show ever so slightly, is when I planted. Prior, I used to soak 24 hours, then over to the plate, however, I was using too much water on the plate and I believe the standing water drowned them. I actually went 100% this time, a first ever for me.
