Usefuls Mint Chocolate Trip pollen.

I am working on a MCT open pollen preservation run.
I wound up with 9 of 11 males. Two beautiful females.
I culled 4 of the males and added a few clones of other cultivars.

Now everything is pollinated and I'm about to figure out a way to clean up the 4x8 flower tent and let the mothers mature their seeds.
I have 5 nice males still dropping pollen. I have already collected a mix and stored some.
I figured I would see if anyone wants any? Before I start clean up.

Absolutely, all vials will be a mix of the 5 males, should be a good representation of MCT genetics.

I'm stoked that you and the others are going to put it to good use.

Life decided too kick me in the nuts! Took the car in for inspection and had a rusted out frame, F###n! NY and there salt covered roads. Got that fixed ( Ouch! wasn't cheap) and literally the next day water pump failed.
Took that in, after I realized I didn't have the tools to get at it, and took another hit.

I was pretty pissed off about the frame , until I started looking at the cost to replace the vehicle. Now I'm just happy I found a fabricator , willing to fix it. 😆

So I will Dm everyone once I've recovered , and get it shipped.

I still have some beans from the original crossing. Also still have the Chocolate Mint OG. Of all the cuts and killer seed phenos I grew, the Chocolate Mint OG was requested more than anything (except maybe the Green Crack S1).

Its a beautiful cultivar!
I've only grown Usefuls, DDS and his OC X CD and loved them both. Growth and structure of the MCT has been impressive. This was my first open pollination with multiple males, I was amazed at the massive amount of pollen they produced. Looks like every flower on both females, are going to be loaded with seeds.
I will have to grow some of the F2`s , so I can give them my best shot.

I started growing a couple of years ago, so I'm not familiar with very many cultivars.
The Chocolate Mint Og sounds great, another cultivar worthy of preservation.

These poor girls were flowering in 85 - 90°F, once pollen started dropping, due to my attempts to maintain some sort of pollen protocol. So they are a little rough.

1 ml of flour cut pollen would be plenty here. 2 ml tubes of pure, are huge. I would throw the pollen in small ziplocs and mail in an envelope in a card or just heavy paper folded over. If you use a centrifuge tube it's $4 minimum to mail.

You can cut that as much as 4-1 with flour. That's what I did on the Romulan pollen. It helps dry it (in oven) and it's easy to see what you are sprinkling on. You have a bunch! lol

What I do is turn the oven on.............my oven has a low of 150 and that's what I set it to. Then a pizza tin on the rack. I take a small pyrex bowl and put the flour and the pollen in it. Sppread it evenly I put a small hygrometer on the tray....I want it to be 18 to 20% humidity for a few minutes.............once I have that reading I take the dish out, mix it up good and let it cool. Then it's got to get packed into a ziplock. Once it's in the ziplock it's relatively safe from moisture. And that's the enemy.
Some peeps use rice flour but I used regular flour.

Hey willie I was really impressed with your pollen. I've had hit or miss with lots of different pollen storage methods over the years but haven't tried or really even heard of putting it in the oven until your offering. The Romulan packet I got from you was very viable and affective. What kind of hygrometer are you using?

I finally have gotten my sh** together.
I went from slow to no work and broke, to Plenty of work and no time to do anything.
Feast or Famine! I call it "just living".

I plan to get the pollen cut, dried , packaged and sent on Tuesday, using @Willie'S method.
