What are you listening to?

At least it's not a guns and roses song.... God I hate them. Sorry to all the GnR fans... Wait no I'm not, they suck ?
I sort of disagree, while I mostly agree. If we were hangin' out and toking up, I'd say that Welcome To The Jungle is a monster, not just because it kicks a$$, but also because it's exactly what 1987 music needed, ' cause it mostly sucked. A

They also dropped this line in the song below: " "With your bitch slap rappin' and your cocaine tongue you get nothin' done", and helped make a good movie even better.

But, yeah, outside of those examples, I'm in agreement, but mostly 'cause of Axl. But you have to admit, if you erased his lead vocals, the band sounds great. :)

As someone who was too young to appreciate Welcome to the Jungle when it came out, it's ubiquitousness on the radio as a youth was honestly just too much, these days I tend to change the station.

That's not to say I don't have a soft spot for a particular GNR tune, it's just mine revolves around a bunch of dudes in ratty Slayer and Sabbath t-shirts drunkenly proclaiming "what's so civil about war, anyway?" in unison, much to the chagrin of their female companions who were impatiently waiting for the jukebox to kick back to something they "could dance too". Whoever added the ability to skip all the songs in the queue to play yours next for an extra dollar deserves a tip of the hat in my book.

But beyond that pleasant memory.... ya, I agree with @Brokehoe

As I said, me, too, mostly. But have a look at what saturated the airwaves in '87, and I think you'll grok why WTTJ was a much needed sonic blast.

This reminds me of how weird it was admitting that the acoustic MTV show by the hated KISS band is pretty good the first dozen times I did. Also of how good most [I'll duck now] Motley Crue cuts are until that Vince Neil guy opens his mouth and attempts vocals.

That is a rather depressing list... I had to scroll all the way to 97 to find a song I like...

That being said, I now know this gem exists...

If you didn't know that was Bruce Willis and just heard it blasting somewhere, who wouldn't like it? Also, imagine how much better if June Pointer had taken all the leads?

On a completely unrelated note, imagine this was your high school daughter @ 4:42. Pretty cool, no?

She's the only one really digging what's going on. I'd be proud to be her parent lol

My high school daughter would probably be one of the ones with that "who is this guy" look on her face.... for a kid who's favorite song growing up was "Too many puppies" her musical tastes have really gone down hill.... not that she had any idea what the song was about beyond the fact that she could yell puppies and headbang to it
