Very fair rant...Light terps are kinda annoying to me but everytime after a cure I change my mind..End of the day I'm one PICKY s.o.b about what I smoke..Almost ridiculous at times to ppl that know me well..Pretty much all my family smokes and I rarely smoke with them...It does happen but most times not..I certainly have my go to strains that I like..Always looking for something I enjoy more but I stay stuck on certain strains for a good while and they are sativa Dom..Cant wait to have some pure sativa stock..I may not share much๐Ÿ˜‰. I'm quite generous with everything else.....Golden goat x JTR....ok..Ill be busy a bit trying to order this๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ Where ya get it? I'll have that in mail asap
That's the beauty of growing your own. You can be picky, cost is dang near negligible other than feeding a seed addiction (speaking for myself haha).
I was at a legalization party last year, I smoked with a guy some Humboldt mint something he grew. Tereible high, polyhybrid nonsense. Ruined my mood I just left the party, I hate social gathering anyway but that just dragged my down instantly.... not all cannabis is created equal.
At this point my fave is the Ssstn over the other Sativas I've grown. I think I sent you alittle pack. That taste is spectacular. Yeild was very low. I had a pearl growth type pheno that was so tasty. But the seeds are crosses, I'm working on selecting for the landrace/ibl traits in the Ssstn so stay tuned for that. Future project at the top of the list. The pack I sent may require some hunting. And the stability was bad so I'd like to work that out or at least down....
Those GG x Jtr are from from Irie Genetics. Rasta Jeff is abit much personality wise imho (his podcast was unlistenable, but the older I get the less I like people) but those beans on sale are a heck of a deal. The Lemon skunk description was also uplifting which is why I also ordered that.
I may have smoked too much of the Jtr x C99 but my head was real fuzzy by the end of the day yesterday, which is a dealbreaker for me. But I was getting after it haha

๐Ÿ’ฏ opposite for me, hated Golden Goat, couldn't kick that shit to the curb fast enough, lol. I hate to even make the apology but those type of highs are amphetamine like to me too edgy.

Having a blast reading this tho. If I had a cut of the grapesmac no. 2 I'd be hard pressed to decide between it and gg4, it's true @HBZ .

Opposite for my wife as well. She hates the strains I love..Gives her mad anxiety..Truth to it is heavy indicas get smoked by me very very rarely...Body chemistry is definitely a factor ...Plus side to all this...More for me๐Ÿ˜‰. Sadly the #2 pheno is the one I let go...Still have the raunchy #1. Hell I don't smoke either of them but ppl sure love them..I want to grab new phenos when I hunt the f2s to make the f3 gen and will let this #1 go...I'm sure my keeper that stays with me lots of time will come right out them f3s....that's usually how it works for me... Haven't popped any f2s yet because I want I wide open room...Looking thru A BUNCH! I feel that strain deserves a proper hunt...Even tho any pheno could easily be a keeper we all know some just bring the heat better than others

Never had it, just thought it was worth a try. Maybe I'll hate it?!

In my mind I'm trying to categorize different sativa highs.

Psychedelic/trippy, can come along with energetic, uplifting

Speed, racy, with anxiety/discomfort for some people

F you up mentally types (Dumb high muddy fuzzy mental blur)

Different plant types
You have landrace types, hybridized landraces(Dutch influenced) and yet still Ibl's of sorts, and then modern polyhybrids made up of the above.

I'm real interested in the Haze (Ssstn) polyhybrid and landrace types atm. Plus some Dutch polys.
Mostly focused on unique effects. Thcv strains on deck too...

But all that said you guys distracted me! I meant to update about veggies, started to harden.
Some stuff hasn't taken too well to being started inside. Mostly melon plants but I wouldn't be surprised if other stuff gives me trouble come transplant time.
But the cost is so low to just experiment and learn as I go, that's what I'm doing. Just takes time.

Big thanks to you @LG/ for the beans. I'll be getting at them here within the next while. Trying not to overload things with plants everywhere for the summer. No outdoor here in the backward state or I'd have plants all over ๐Ÿ˜„

View attachment 202272

Looking forward to making some ๐Ÿ”ฅ with em!
Totally understand no rush.
I told myself I'd shut down for the summer but ended up with one last set of vegging girls.
Gonna try some weird low light intensity tents. Dim everything to minimum and put 2 plants or so in each area... maybe even intakes off, just exhaust fan and filter.
Hard to fight the heat in the summer for me

The haze genetics can be tricky..I have ran quite a few..Still running the super silver haze..Some ppl hate it..What I've seen with the cut I have is dont over do it and it will cruise you for hours...Very uplifting and long lasting...Over do it like I've done to many times and it shuts your brain down without laying you down...Straight water head zombie like effects lol..Can bring a lil anxiety if ya over step..My elderly step dad won't smoke it anymore...Said it made him feel like shit wasnt even real..Not sure what that means ,didn't get into it..His tolerance is quite high too

I should tell you, the Ssstn I've been raving about did throw bananas a few weeks in. I diligently removed them, and after that no problems, except light feeder in general I'd say, oversized pot maybe next time...
Same with the Lambsbreath im doing a seed increase on now, handful of bananas all over her.
I had these strains in half gallon pots which was a big mistake. That could be a part of it for sure.
That said:

I've been wondering, how fast can plants adapt to new enviornments/conditions?
Soecifically outdoor strains indoors, or in drastically different climates outdoors.
One generation? Two? More?

Breeding out herms is straight forward I think, except with some landrace strains that have a different way of choosing sex can't recall the name of it. Where if it has a certain amount of this gene it's shows male, but borderline it does both. Fml I can't recall the name of this but it's south east Asian strains if I remember correctly. I was informed about it on icmag. In that case making fem seeds is actually the best way to stabilize. From what I recall anyways.

Mission acomplished!
One generation? Two? More?
Less? The same generation? How extreme? It's more adaptable than fleshy fruit bearing plants like melons I think. I also might be cheating by thinking reveg is an option.
I switched plants to 9 on 9 off recently (Mango Biche) and they seem pretty well adapted after a couple weeks.

I think the first thing to do when breeding out herms is, accept the fact it hasn't been done for over 10k years so it's not likely to happen. Not for a hobby grower like me with essentially zero laboratory access. Although right now typing that I should be able to ship material low enough in thc to classify as hemp or whatever, just need a lab that has sequenced the genome now, lol.

LaoSa pushed anthers for me but honestly I think nothing of it anymore. If I could think of a cut ive flowered out more than 3 times that hasnt pushed at least one I'll be sure to post about it. I accept the fact my temps will go out of bounds indoor, it's just not worth it for a few anthers. Besides put the same plant outdoors in lower temps and it won't herm, the sun is just magic.

Corn was a tough transplant for me, definite root shock and I hate to say it looks like you may not have enough to generate enough hormone so they flower and make fruit. Corn needs numbers and relarively dense planting. You may fare better than me given the paper pots, not sure if their roots will grow through easily enough, might slice the sides when planting? Think you mentioned onions too, I didn't have issue transplanting them. I have one that overwintered and I need to split it. I use them as pest control as the former dog pen that is now my garden has some kind of carpet remnant that gets grown into root veggies. Super gross when I found the first one in a carrot while it was in my mouth.

Thanks for all the info! I'll start a bunch more corn direct sow and hope for the best. Might need to clear a separate area to really run a bunch of corn and not take up the whole raised bed... I see some shovel work in my future.

And yes, I plan on cutting the bags off when planting. Completely I think.
The idea of biodegradable confuses people, and the false advertising by companies.
These types of bags imho are not easy for roots to grow through and need to be cut or removed at least partially when planting. If not root based problems may occur. Just my opinion based on research about em.

Autos are out! I think it's 25 or 50% autos in this line. Just guessing tho.
I did a seed increase on Royal V . Was labeled photo but had some auto traits. Worked out well for me! I just started my other autos now so it will be awhile before their outside... the one on the left is not auto it's just an extra Big Sur Holy Weed. These autos will be very tiny yielding but that's OK. I'll count it as a bumper crop. Might even give two away to a couple older folks I know who inquired about getting plants or seeds.
