Slowly getting on track with veg. Gave super k foliar last night. 3 confirmed females so far. One is @Mim Towls ak47 x vanilla gorilla (far back left in 1.8gal), another is @TheSpaceFarm 's Twinkle Twinkle Little Tart (far back right in 1.8 gal), the other ICR what it is. This round I just numbered everything trying not to play favorites as I cull them, think I'm at something like 6 or 7 now 3 males and the rest just not playing along or putting up with my antics.

My hope this round was to sex everyting before final transplant then flip to flower. Its looking like it will be a staggered flip.

34 strawberries have made it so far. Put some in the cold frame last night. Its held over 40 in there for the last 2 nights without heat but 3-5 in of snow expected tonight.

That fan doesn't work one bit for cooling unless its a bright cold day and the box is closed. I kinda want a swamp cooler.

Got the garden bed turned. One Asparagus has made an appearance from last year, hope a few more pull through.

Probably plant carrots and onions today. Built a raised bed 2 x 6 x 18in that I need to source some media for, also need to ammend the veg trug, it is probably going to get mostl strawberries and a few herbs. Will use Bio-live and some beefed up worm castings.

Time to roll up the cold fram snow is coming in just the time it took to type this post. Welcome to the valley.

Thats a 4F drop in 5 min and we are at 9 in 10 now, don't look like ile be planting shit today lol.
I still got this, was using this to humidify my whole flower room np ( infact had to have my dh remove even on low, for a greenhouse and veg stage I could see this is the best and cheapest way to cool and keep your rh up there

might use this on my deck when it’s hot and can “chill” lol

I ended up getting a smaller one.
But its been so rainy/snowy and mild it is just sitting in the garage barely even unboxed.

what about just use it for a fan/airflow without adding moisture intill you need that option ? airflow is such a big factor even if adding fresh air from ducting

It would be set on an inkbird so it would only run on temp demand. I got an acinfinty airlift t10 and some automatic pneumatic vent lifters for ventiliation for the greenhouse I am building and I am going to need something for circulation. The coldframe could use some circulation too on days I can't open it up because its too cold.

Ive ran a Bionaire water cooler in our grenhouses for 20+ years.
They are great for adding humidity and a bonus is when its humid out no water needed as the air turns cooler from the rh in the atmosphere.
When i lived in AZ for a few i ran a small one in my indoor area when needed and worked great.

Take a peek up top.
This one was taking its time to show, or at least it was taking me a long time to see it. I had it as female at first, then a couple days later I couldn't confirm, now its probably a week later. If I am correct this means intsex has been identified in every one of my CnC crosses.

Its unfortunate because I was excited to dig through that GW cross to find some things to F2 and beyond.

For now I am going with sensi runs, the next planed chuck is another preservation run kalmata or ketema red in search of something perhaps more suited for outdoor here, but I haven't even officially submitted my application to @Deebs for that. If I find Neville's Haze to bx in this first run through I might get to that first if I can manage to keep the No.3 male alive, lol. Last round of cloning was pretty bad, I think 3 of 14 still have a chance, and No.3 was the only parent to survive transplant. This going back to work bs and setting up the veggie (strawberry) garden has really impacted my canna garden ?‍♂️ .
I must've missed the intersex, thought I just saw the balls. Lol.

New foliar regimine to test these.
20210521_074408.jpg
Will do every other day a new micro, then I will start combining them if goes well. These are complexes/chelates.
First up is Iron.
20210521_074309.jpg

2.5 ml Yucca, 4ml Si, 2.5 ml Iron, 1/2 gal ro - pH landed at 5.8, 0ppm

Not saturating like an ipm spray, I probably used a quart for the room and a small veg plant.

HoneySundae is pretty sensitive to any spraying of anything so will keep a close eye on her TTLT is probably the furthest along in development at 3 weeks, NH cuts are 4.5 weeks, the youngest are 13 days. The gb @ 65 days wasn't sprayed (hasn't been since starting water only about 1.5 weeks ago.

Until now I have been doing every 3-4 days rotating WCaP, epsom and super k fulvate.

Well.......
As it happens, none of the last batch of clones made it and mom didn't survive the hydro to soil transition. This1ft tall plant in flower and 3 beans are what I have leftlefta, you wanna pop em? She is a low producer a lot of work to trim and finicky on light and nutes but other than that.....lol. There is a reason why I ran her for a year and will go for reveg.

I'd love to if your not planning on running them. I'm not in a spot to keep a male atm if one shows up just fyi, so I wouldn't grow a boy out.
Just sayin that in case you had plans to make seed with them.

Today is Copper Sulfate.

20210523_065814.jpg

2.5ml Yucca, 4ml Si, 2.5ml Cooper in 1/2 gal ro - 70ppm, 6.2 pH - need to double check Iron ppm, I don't think reading was taken with silica, I decided to add at last second because pH was in the 4s after adding iron, the silica brought it up. With the copper I added in "correct" order.

IPM this evening (grandevo/regalia) or tomorrow am, was due at 10 days yesterday and spring is just popping 'round these parts so should be sooner rather than later. I'll go to 7 day intervals if I feel like pest pressure increases to justify the move. Also, will need to start mixing more for the veggie garden as it grows, that is probably my most direct vector in the summer, pets are a year round threat.

It has been pretty wet 3/4 in of rain last night, only a little pea size hail.

This morning was Manganese Chloride (2.5ml), Yucca (2.5ml) and Silica (4ml) in 1/2 gal. Forgot to get pH and ppm.

A light frost. A lot of the tender vegitation that grew indoors has died back, whats left is pretty hardy. A total of 6 asparagus have made it.

Twinkle Twinkle Little Tart may be a bit sensitive to the foliar applications, or I may have had it a spot that was getting too much light.

Pretty sure its the foliar, the pistil browning goes down further than I would have expected a light intinsity issue.

HoneySundae actually seems to be responding pretty well, her old growth looks a little haggard and there is some pistil browning.

Day after tomorrow is zinc, then in 2 days I will mix a batch with all 4 plus yucca and silica.

Zinc lactate (2.5ml), Yucca (2.5ml), Silica (4ml) - 70ppm, 5.7 pH.

20210527_081437.jpg

Debating what foliar sprays to apply next. Should I do a round of WCaP, epsom, then super k, or should I start combining them for fewer applications? Will probably do wcap and super k then the 4 micros (manganese, copper, iron and zinc) then a round of ipm....

@SSGrower what ya using for PH up and down nowadays?
Nothing. The silica does seem to buffer the foliar sprays. Feed is a handful of boosted worm castings ammended with bone, blood, crab, alfalfa, kelp, langbenite, azomite, rock phosphate bubbled 24hrs. I should probably drop a meter in it. That is the same mix I am adding to hp promix I buffered with some extra dolomite.

Been running the cmh 6hrs a day and about 250W on the leds this run things seem to be running smooth, but definitely can't pin it on one specific thing.

Return to "organics" and 20 years since using an hid or hydro. Perhaps one can get there with salts but the room doesn't feel right, not for me. I will continue to dive into more organic hydro but refuse to do it on bottles so its gonna be bit, took a year and half to get where I am with it.

Organic hydro is so cool! I've always been fascinated by chinampas.

When I was 14 I worked on a ranch in western Nebraska where the aquifer (ogalal iirc) came to the surface. Tractors had duallys front and rear for floatation and they were like 100 year old alis chalmers. Other ranchers in the area retrofittited old pickups to run as sweepers because they were lighter/faster. Some of the old ex-ranch hands had their gorilla grows there, first time I saw a pot plant, didn't know what it was, couldn't even roll a j yet.
