Hey Cap... so far I am planning to buy a 3x3 shorty tent from gorilla. (5 ft 8 max height)This is what my space allows for. I am not sure if this is sufficient height. I have read about LST and can further explore this. The lights I am setting my sights on are either the HLG 350R or HLG 300L R Spec. The HLG 350R appears to be overkill for a small space 3x3, correct?
lastly I have looked at purchasing the Ac infinity T6 for exhaust and carbon filter purposes. I will be using soil for my first go. I know this may sound moronic... as far as intake is concerned is there a vent on grow tent that I just open for this? What’s best way to setup the intake portion of the tent? Thanks so much in advance you guys are all top notch.

All tents have multiple opening, you’ll want the exhaust/carbon filter at the top and you can set up passive intake at the bottom so you’ll need to grab some 4inch or 6inch ducting ducting depending on size of fan

Ok I would go with the T6 for your fan set up. The 4will work but for the difference in price and the air flow plus the fact that you won't need to run it 100 percent.is a Big plus..
You will need some duck work to run it... But you will use the vents holes in the tent for that...
I honestly don't think either light is to much.. that's why there's dimmer pods on them, that way you don't need to run ? percent..
I ran 2 qb light's in my 3x3 240w x 2
480 at 75percent...
So I don't think either light is Overkill...
More is better here..

3x3-9sq.
9x40- 360 watt's....

Soil go with fox farm then if you can get it easy..cause your going to need help with the food and these guys know it well...

If I go bigger, let’s say the HLG 600L RSpec
Would this also mean a bigger fan/ filter? How to manage the heat from this? How hot would one of these bad boys run?
LEDs don't run that hot and if your cramming that bad Larry in a 3x3 you'll want to be running it at about 60%, especially since you have such a low ceiling height.... that light is intense! Great to grab now if you ever intend to go up to a 4x4... Probably overkill for your space but like the doctor, I believe in overkill...

If I'm right about what your doing..ya I would get that ..you can always add 6 ft of wire and move the driver out of the tent.. I would do it anyway.. you're going to need room..
