So recently had to get a new phone. When coming to this site I get a banner up top saying browser is out of date. I've been having problems posting on another site I frequent also but haven't really tried posting pics or anything here yet so idk but I'm using Google chrome and it seems to be up to date... Have you opened your app store or section where you see apps and can update them? Most phones seem to either run Android (Linux) or iOS (BSD) and for browsers, my phone has a web icon browser, but also has Chrome too, and I don't use the provider version.

Check your browser settings to make sure 'User Agent' is enabled, or that you're not browsing anonymously or in 'private' mode. Sometimes if websites/plugins don't get that info, they'll display warning banners like that.

Yeah can't really find anything I guess I'll have to live with that banner for now don't really notice any other problems with using this site with new phone...

One thing to try is opening the app store, and search for Google chrome, and make sure it's the one from Google that you look at and see if it allows you to install it. You can try uninstalling the one you have currently and redownload the app again.

Sometimes Google........ lol ridiculous to think a browser is required on a phone huh?

What if you install over top ? Make sure it's the one from Google, but you might be able to install it anyway, and then find the other version in your apps to use that one instead.

Another thing you could try is installing a different but still well known Browser such as Opera or maybe Firefox ?

It really only is just a 'warning' so I wouldn't sweat it too much. Seems like it's baked into XenForo.

For example, line 1,463 of this webpage:

HTML:
<noscript><div class="blockMessage blockMessage--important blockMessage--iconic u-noJsOnly">JavaScript is disabled. For a better experience, please enable JavaScript in your browser before proceeding.</div></noscript>
<div class="blockMessage blockMessage--important blockMessage--iconic js-browserWarning" style="display: none">You are using an out of date browser. It may not display this or other websites correctly.<br />You should upgrade or use an <a href="https://www.google.com/chrome/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">alternative browser</a>.</div>

There's some javascript somewhere that performs the check. I would investigate further but it's all minified/obfuscated as per the norm. There was a discussion about it on the XenForo dev's forum:
