Thanks, I appreciate the advice. Normally everything is ran up and out of the way, I just bumped the ends and they must of come loose or since it landed on the ballast cord that could of done it I think. Either way no good and I gotta be better about it.Either the plug was dirty or making bad contact, or the receptacle on the extension cord was. I don't think this was a short, that would trip the breaker.
Any time there is any sort of bad contact it makes resistance go up, where there's resistance there's heat. Glad you caught it before it caused any more problems.
Just route power cables up out of the way so you never touch them.
now I’m just waiting for work to shut down so I can spend a couple weeks upgrading to LED
