Hey All,
So today is day 60 since flip, Been giving them just water for 2 weeks. The trichomes look all white to me, maybe some clear but I don't see any amber. Which I think is when I want to harvest because I am going for a daytime "up" effect. And it just so happens that tomorrow late afternoon/early evening, I will have an empty house for several hours. Which should give me plenty of time to do a light wet trim and get them hung up.
Now is time for decisions:
First my day hours are 8am-8pm, and with this new(to me) information, I don't want the lights coming on before I harvest. And with the talk of extended darkness, this kinda of would have count, anyways my thought is tonight after the lights go off, I just unplug the timer so they don't come back on in the morning. This will mean they get darkness from 8pm tonight till 4-5pm tomorrow night which would be 20-21 hours before chop. Additional information is I watered them yesterday.
Does anyone see any problems there?
My other option is to wait till next Friday when I will again have an empty quiet house, and risk trichomes turning amber and not achieving the "up" effect I'm going for.
And lastly, this is what they're looking at today:

Chop Chop Chop. You should be fine i do that with the dark time all the time. Perfect! You can decide the next round how much further you might want to take it. I have done two harvests on the Citrus M and one was 59 days the other was 65 days. No problem on the watering just may hang a little longer which is a good thing.

Sounds like a solid plan and a perfect window to trim! TIMBERRRRRRRRRR

I'm not adding anymore stakes, I put 3 in each, hopefully I didn't kill them. When they were seedlings I got in the mindset of they're delicate and never wanted to handle them too much. This next grow I'm going to be more hands on with them with hopes of strengthening them.

I am using the GH flora trio, and caliMagic. I don't see silica on the bottles. Silica is supposed to help strengthen the bond between cells or something?
A quick search about silica for plants says it can be a powder added to soil, liquid in water or a foliar spray. How should I be applying this?
Can you drop some knowledge on a newbie?

Thanks
If you say away from the tap root..they will be just fine. otherwise you might look into plant yo- yo's

Ima cheap..so I use lots of bamboo poles..LOL
Can't post Amazon links anymore..they disappear when I hit Post reply

Thanks @Buzzer777 I ended up getting some plant yoyo's. I tried the bamboo but I would have had to stick 30 of them in there, which made me nervous.

When i use the bamboo stakes a lot of times i only use 4 of them strait down the side of the pot. At that point using 4 pieces of the thick plant wire to the top of each post. I will form a circle at the top of the stakes. You can make the circle as big as you like. A lot of times i don't even need to attach the colas they just use the wire for support. Doing it like this you don't have to concern yourself with harming the roots with the stakes. Also wanted to point out your flower time rocks 8-8pm same as mine ;)

Damn @Buzzer777 that pot reminds me of the old magical trick person in the box with 10 swords sticking thru it :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:. Although it sure as heck did not hurt the plant judging from the results.

So they got the chop, took me 3 hours, which is about 2 hours longer than I anticipated :ROFLMAO:. I didn't take in to account that my shoulder has been bothering me lately. Every two branches I got lazier and lazier, and the branch clusters got bigger. Now that I think about it, bigger clusters of branches probably made it more difficult, where I was thinking a bigger portion of the plant coming down, the closer I am to being finished lol.
Anyways I hadn't planned on trying to manicure them because I'm the only one seeing them and I don't care what they look like.

What should I do with these? Preserve them? Make them into head massagers?

Nice job on your first grow Blackbeard, looks like you played it by the numbers.
I have seen first grows on the internet that sure the heck didn't look anything like this one.
You should be mighty proud of your accomplishment!

Now the question is... have you been studying up on drying and curing?

Good Luck,
WillieP

Hey @WillieP , yes I have been reading about drying and curing, thank you. So far my tent has been 69-77°F and 39-55%RH, but it's been staying around 72° and 42%. They look dryer but still feel wet, but it's only been 3 days, I figure I probably have until Friday at least, which will work out for jarring on that same day when I get a few hours of empty house lol. Still need to pick up a bunch of jars, Walmart has a deal on 12 32oz jars, pickup only though.

Everyone has their own method. I am a believer in the ‘put a hydrometer in the jar’ philosophy. It lets you know if you jar to early (over 70%RH), and allows you to tweak the RH by opening the jars or emptying the buds out if needed. The little digital hydro meters are cheap and are accurate enough for our purposes. +/- 1-2%. I personally shoot for 62-65% RH. PS.
They may not be needed for growers with more experience, but I found comfort in having a safety net being a Newbie.
Good Luck.

@Blackbeard if you think you can't make it to Friday (which could be difficult at those humidity readings) just chop them into manageable pieces that would fit into Tupperware container. This is very similar to hanging because they are still on the stem. Put a hygrometer inside the Tupperware and use your lid as a humidity throttle. Same as jar just a lot bigger. You can also use a 5 gallon bucket with a good sealing lid. It is usually wetter than you think when feeling but just make sure you don't get it to dry as it is much easer to work with when not to dry. Personally i use Tupperware every time i dry and cure ( unless machine drying). I really struggle trying to get past 5-7 days on a hang. I am maintaining around 60% in my dry room. I quite stressing over hang time once i started incorporating the Tupperware. My dry cure method usually lasts around 30 days so if my hang time is shortened that means the Tupperware time is extended. The last week is usually spent in jars after trimming.

Stellar method using the tupperware!:superhappydance:
I have used large brown paper bags to transition between hanging and the jars also.

@WillieP the real bonus using this method is if they are dried correctly the trimming is minimal and if you use a trim bin the tricomb collection is impressive. I started using a machine recently and that requires wet trimming. When wet trimming using a trim bin was like waking up Christmas morning with no presents under the tree :ROFLMAO:.

Hey @Capt. C I don't have any tupperware but what I do have is 4 32oz mason jars. I think I'm gonna need more than 4 though ?. Anyways, today is day 4 hanging and the thinner colas on the right side of the tent feel real dry and rock hard, the thicker colas on the left side of tent still feel like they are just dry on the outside and moist on the inside.

Now the reason I mention the side of the tent is because I have a small fan on the floor on the left side of tent, pointing towards the right side and slightly angled up. So I imagine there is more air movement around the branches on the right side than the left, plus with the ones on the left being the thicker "Big Ole Dongs" I figure they are going to take a little longer lol.

I was thinking about grabbing some of the smaller buds that feel dryer today and jarring them so I have some medicine and can get ready for burping. But now I'm thinking I should probably jar up what I can of the dry right side of the tent, and go looking for air tight containers tomorrow to put the rest in. Or jar what will fit and then see if pointing the fan at the floor on low and see if I can get the RH right for the thicker colas.

Or maybe I'm thinking too much about it and should just get them in jars and start the burping process. Have I mentioned I am very indecisive?

Update: it's only a few that feel real dry, I pulled off a couple a smaller buds that snapped off, some didn't snap off so I left them, I just grabbed a few to get me through.
