Day 11 give or take.

As you can tell more advanced yellowing is starting to become visible. I have two theories.

1. I just switched to peat moss as my base and I purchased Majestic Earth sphagnum peat moss. After doing some more research I figured out that ME peat is not Canadian peat moss. It's also more intended for lawn and tree/shrub use. I will be moving over to Sunshine Canadian Peat Moss and I think that will help a lot.

2. I am not adding enough organic matter to the soil mix. I have been using worm castings as my primary source of N. I believe I need to add compost as well as worm castings to help improve the soil texture and amount of N available.

Some of my other thoughts have been that I definitely will be moving back up to 2 gal pots for flowering. I need to add a light mulch layer to help keep the soil surface healthy and prevent drying/clumping. I also purchased a smaller sized perlite as the brand I typically use was out of stock. The larger particle perlite works better at aeration, I believe.

Greetings brother @Budwulf, thanks again for giving the seeds a shake. I hope you find something fun to smoke on.

A short on Peat Moss... Sphagnum is a specific type of moss. Commonly referred to as peat moss. Sphagnum moss is harvested from different locations, mostly in the northern hemisphere. Many brands contract with one on site harvesting company...peat moss is harvested and packaged under different labels by the same on site harvesting company. I've used many different brands without any noticable changes in plant growth.

Peat moss does support microbial life but doesn't really have any nutritional value.

A decent blend for soil is 1/3 aeration, 1/3 peat moss and 1/3 humus component (worm castings, compost or blend of both). Maybe a little less peat moss and a little more aeration. You can make tweaks to the blend once you become familiar with your cultivars. That mixture will support seedlings for a short while. It will eventually need some sort of amendments added. Kelp meal, crustacean meal, alfalfa meal, basalt rock dust, neem meal...etc. Maybe add some seabird guano, for added (P), to the mix for bloom. There is a recipe on one of my threads that worked well for me. To each their own brother. This is just suggestion. Many different recipes work for many different gardeners.

As far as container size goes. Solo cups are okay for germination. No more then 10-14 days and the babies should get new shoes...imho. In most cases more roots equals more fruits. Are those #2 size containers you're using for bloom? The container size # isn't equal to gallons. A good way to measure how much medium fits in a container is to line it with a garbage bag or piece of poly and add water by the gallon or quart than do the math.

Good call on the surface mulch. It helps with everything in the soil.

Be well my friend,

@Kind024 I just now saw your response to the previous post I apologize for getting back to you so late. Definitely a lot of adjustments since then that have helped out and a few more on the way that will help out further.

I'm glad I was able to give these testers a hard journey. I apologize for not being able to run these to their fullest potential. Thank you again for the opportunity and for all the ideas friend.

You did a great test with these seeds brother! This is what it's all about. Being able to see the genetics run in different environments by different hands give alot of important data to the seed maker. After observing this run I'm confident this line will be stable for the masses. A well documented test run to by the way. Thank you for putting them through their paces. I'm grateful for the time, space and love you've shared with the community and this trip. I'd be happy to have you test my gear anytime.

Be well my friend,
Kind
