Growing stuff and doing things

@dstroy0 I did settle on the 1:1 as you did at first. They looked good in veg at that ratio. I added in some more B because I wanted to combat some yellowing on the lower fans during flower. Seems to be ok for the past few months. I do think when I add in the PK boost from the BudExlposion that it does teeter over an unspoken threshold with about 30% of the girls I have fed with it. The 1:1 might just be the ticket.

I used Greenleafs PPM calculator originally as well. But, I find that it's doesn't represent the 2-part accurately enough. If you dropped in 3.5 A and 2.5 B into some RO water its EC is going to be very HIGH and most definitely have some issues with your plants. But 6 grams is about right for the 1 part and would put the EC in a decent range at 1.3-1.5

The real question is What are you playing on steam these days?

I'm thinking out a project that'll make RO water for me, wifi controlled of course.

1x normally open solenoid for permeate
2x normally closed solenoid 1 for flow restrictor bypass (membrane flush) and 1 for permeate-to-drain
1x electric ball valve for feed water
1x low pressure switch
1x high pressure switch
associated control circuitry, probably an esp32 and some mosfets

order of operation:

to make water
1. close normally open permeate solenoid
2. open feed water electric ball valve
3. wait for valve to open
4. open membrane flush solenoid for n seconds
5. close membrane flush solenoid
6. open product-to-drain bypass for n seconds (to eliminate TDS creep)
7. close product-to-drain bypass
8. open permeate solenoid

... making water ...

normal shut down
1. close product solenoid
2. close feed water electric ball valve
3. open membrane flush solenoid to bleed pressure
4. close membrane flush solenoid
5. open product-to-drain bypass to bleed pressure
6. close product-to-drain bypass

... shut down ...

there's a product out there that does something similar already

To make this work I need an electric ball valve 1/4npt-1/4 push connect fittings, a n/o solenoid and the pressure switches, I think I have everything else.

I've got 2 1/4 aquatec 8800 pumps just sitting around because I switched to 3/8 8800 pumps, I took one apart and cleaned it out. Going to use that to boost the feed water pressure to 80psi.

Royal still standing ?

No, it came down. Yield was way less than normal, potency is off. I had P, K, and some micro def in the flowering tents which are no medium and in soil moms. The moms in the oldest soil got hit the hardest, and the ones in newer soil stuck it out longer before showing signs. I think that's better now that I changed the ratio of megacrop A:B from 1:1@4g/gal to 1.5:1@4g/gal, because the new growth on all of the moms looks normal regardless of how tired the soil is.

I've been having problems with nutrients since about May/June, really looking forward to smooth sailing. Should have finished 3ish cycles :(

I also bought the wrong pool shock and killed several clones using the 4 in 1 lol. 2020 has been a journey.

I hear you on the 2-part issues. I thought I finally had it dialed in up until I realized I didn’t. I gave up on it and switched to organic. It’s looking to be one of the best decisions I’ve made in awhile.

I think I’m good now, I’ve got a wedding cake clone in, and its new stuff is growing normal even though it took forever to root. I’ve only been feeding this new ratio to everything for a month and it’s not grown out of the moms yet, so I get unhealthy clones that are pissed off by the time they muster up the strength to root.

The 2 part doesn’t have chitosan or the kelp extract in it so I’m going to get those in there too. I found this 4% chitosan product that has its application rates listed and converting their recommended application rate to ppm matches up with the journal articles I’ve been reading so I’m going to try starting there. 1mL of 4%w/v solution should be 40,000ppm, added to 1 gal of water brings ppm to 10.3.
