I like the way this one is looking. Very explosive growth, I love this stage. Lookin really good ?
How do you clean these? Do you let em soak? I let em sit in a bucket with water n a little bleach or h2o2 until I'm ready to go back and thoroughly wash them. The roots can be a real PITA. Have you ever gotten them to look like new again, or do they always have those water mark/nute stains?

I just hit em with about a 5% h202 mix for about a day scrub good rinse and pop em back in
You can use an enzyme for a brand new look after a 24 hr soak. I use "Enzyme Komplete".
Thanks for that. I just finished a batch, only 17 more to go ? the little root bits and stuff, can you ever get those 100% clean? I used a paint strainer (thanks Gweedo for the idea) in 5 gal buckets outside, and a final rinse in the pots using the shower to let it drain through. Still visible red/brown in the shower after the first outside rinse, it's clear now, so it's as good as it's gonna get with what I have on hand.
I try to wash what I can, but there's a loss, I'd say around 25%. So every 4 bags I need to backfill the loss with 1. Recently accidentally picked up a bag of the JUMBO hydroton. Interesting. Just mixed it in with the regs.

And if you do use the enzyme stuff don't let it sit more than 24 hours, I came back to some raunchy ass pond water lol I've got a bottle of it that I'm not using till I have another cleaning project
I tried the enzymes in the res, and was ok for about 5 days or so then the plants started to get unhappy. Changed out the res and all was good again. Thats when I realized it would be a more effective cleaning agent than a routine addition to the res. Stuff bubbles up like crazy too, bu will make salt stained algae covered parts like brand new after a nice soak.
anything organic will get dissolved. The more organics you have, the more it will bubble and froth though. Id recommend getting off what you can, then let a nice soak of the enzymes do the rest in a 5 gal bucket. Ive cleaned my sumersible pumps in it too as it can get in those nooks n crannys my hands cant get into when hand washing hydro parts on the inbetweens.

Quick update
Flipped the lvtk crosses on the 6th, let em get a little on the tall side this go, had to supercrop a few branches and rearrange the totes to get a better light distance, they're looking okay to me, no major issues other than a few springtails in one of my reservoirs, no idea what to do with them the info is all over the place on treatment, I've just been sucking them out when my rez waters.

Been busy a ton with my 2 boys as well since the coronie and no school got em on house arrest basically, been building and riding go carts and dirtbikes for 3 weeks straight???

and made this nifty little 2 site f&d setup from recycled mini systems, also upped my nanny points and learned to sew this past week, whipped up some 13 gal smart pots for pretty dam cheap ??????
