I installed six leveling legs in this aquarium frame.

As I was aligning them, she went live and dropped the height of the threaded shaft.
I am not one to pull out- and she bit me good.
Avulsed ⁷/⁸ of the profile off my right pointer. Just hanging on by the prints . Left a good trail of blood into the house.

I ran my hand under the tap and let the water clean the wound. Got my first aid gear laid out while keeping pressure on.
I decide to take my first real look.
"Hmm, nice clean cut, big penisulated mass; although nothing missing, No mash,,,this may re-attach itself, no need for midnight emergency room visits,,,"

I am having all of these rational thoughts when my pansy subconscious throws an absolute hissy-fit. Damned if I didn't go into shock.
Never seen a room get dark so fast. Blackness is racing for the centre and I am determined to get my melon closer to the hardwood before I lose my teeth.
Flat on my back, on the kitchen floor, I decided there was no reason that I shouldn't take a nap right then and there.

Fuck'n voice in my head, interrupting relaxation.

This has all happened in 60 seconds, and I realized it would take longer than that to stop bleeding. That is when I decided to take off my hoodie because it was getting so stinking hot in there.
Sweat is just pouring of my face when the "your going to puke" alarm goes off.
"Perhaps if I lay here, real still like, I won't puke".
We have all played that game.
Still flipping the coin here for puke, or pass out.

Nah, I got bigger problems.
The room is spinning and I am drifting off when I consider the high probability of shitting my pants.

Kids don't want to come downstairs in the morning to see the kitchen covered in blood ,and their poor Dad laying on the floor in a puddle of piss.

Picked my sorry ass off the floor, wrapped my finger, headed back out to finish turning on the lights.

This is not gonna help me to sound normal but, as someone who was living in a country where I had no insurance for a while, and had to do some half ass dental surgery in my mouth once with a sterilized steak knife (I had a bad tooth infection and couldn't afford a dentist in Montreal so I sterilized a steak knife and cut it open and made a scene from a Zombie movie essentially LOL) but with that in mind when you need bleeding to stop, you're better to use cold water at first to thicken up the blood so it'll clot more, and then put peroxide in the wound which, the sing SHOULD keep you awake enough, and then, depending on the "flap" that may or may not be hanging, you can use super glue in a pinch, but you're better off using pressure which is what an EMT would use. Won't be pretty but if it's really bad you can add stitches with unscented no flavor dental floss.

Had a buddy I was playing Pool with one night try and take his shot, and the Pool Cue shattered as he hit and left a stake that would make a Vampire cry, and it went right through the palm of his hand.

The tip of the Cue had gone out in a way that left a really sharp spear and with his own forward momentum he put it straight in his hand. I ran out to my Car and grabbed him some medicine for pain as I used a sharp knife to cut the pieces of wood out of his hand. We got it out and cleaned it and he was fine but it's scary sometimes.

Yeah, that's the embarrassing part.
My transgression was not only breaking a rule, but also a commandment.

I was having trouble synchronizing the pins/getting them to all pilot simultaneously into place.
I should have approached it differently.

Rule:
Do not use body parts as tools.

My fist is not a hammer
my finger is not a screwdriver
my shoulder is not a wedge
my teeth are not pliers

Often when I have hurt myself, it was because I was using my body as a tool.
I was lifting the aquarium; which is the job of a lever and wedge .

When I get the courage to tackle it again, I will not make the same mistake. With one end of the aquarium propped up with a wedge, I can tape the feet in place so they do not pop out of their cylinders.

The leg on the right is anatomically correct. If the thread was longer I could just put a nut on top.
That was the original problem, when I lifted the frame high enough to insert another foot it was also high enough for another leg to pop out.

All I needed was a wedge.
Damn gravity.
Kinetic energy is so easy to identify. Potential energy is always lurking. Which brings me back to the Commandment I broke.

Thou shalt not work under a suspended load.

That mashes more sense actually; I legit got drunk as shit one night camping and woke up wondering why my jeans leg was stuck to me and then it dawned on me that it was spot welded to my leg from blood.

I had a rusted chunk of jeep in my leg deep lol. I pulled it out and eventually washed it but it healed up fine. So have a decent scar though lol.

Aquarium stuff is no joke. When I was young, my Piranhas were in a 55 gallon tank. Even half full I can see broken bones lol. I'm glad you're alright bro.

I know he is special because I dropped something on that pail. The bucket got all effed up but the plant was fine.
The other deciding criteria is the cold reality that he is the only male I got from my gear.
I can be indecisive at times, so I appreciated having a shoo-in winner.

Female selection was slightly more difficult. Un-Luckily I have three to choose from.

The early favorite was equal in height, although put on more nodes overall.
My opinion was swayed when they began to flower. This one started chunking-out, way before the others.





I dig it.
