Question why do you do 2 tops instead of 4? I keep thinking I want to try this but I haven’t yet.. do you think you get better results? I don’t mean to come off being a smart ass or anything I was just wondering
I do two as well . I top super early . It's a huge space saver if you have a ton of plants but if you're only running six in a 4x4 I could see doing four tops.
I just found that if I go with more tops than two mains, it makes for a very thick and crowded canopy. I like to super crop those two mains until all the side branching catches up, it makes things much more manageable for me while mitigating some of the risks associated with thicker canopies. (Mold, mildew, pests hiding) I can also catch any errant intersex parts a bit easier as well. I could probably get away with more tops if I wanted l, but I’m averaging anywhere between a qp-hp per plant, so I haven’t really had the desire to push em any harder .
I think I might try it just to have a little more manageable canopy…I wish I had yields like that I’ve been getting on average 3 to 4 oz’s per plant
Stepping up the quality of my LEDs helped with that. I have been able to raise my lights quite a bit, and let my plants grow a bit taller while still receiving light all the way to the base. As long as they finish between 5-6 foot tall, I can pull decent numbers.
Ya I think my leds are pretty good we will see what happens this round I started making my plants bigger so they are getting put into flower at like 2 1/2 feet tall instead of a 1 1/2 feet so maybe that will help thanks for replying
If I manage to do it correctly and break apical dominance there really shouldn’t be a difference in the “main” and side branches. Here’s a better example with this player cake
