LED observations

I figured it out pretty quick lol they just weren't growing as fast as I felt they should when I first built my lights, 580w at the wall Samsung 561 diodes no ir or uv at all and they just weren't going room was great, the old laser thermometer showed me the error in my ways, there's no real vpd steering without the leaf Temp data and I like a lot was totally unaware of that at the time

Guys the cal mag issue your speaking of isn't just from the leds its actually your leaf Temps, what your seeing as a defiency is actually just the plants metabolism going slow, try bumping your room Temps up to the mid 80s to get everything rocking again, its from the lack of ir in most leds, causing our rooms to be within hps temp range but not transferring the heat onto the leaves via the IR so the plant is actually seeing cooler conditions under a much brighter light, since bumbing up to around 82 to 85 daytime Temps they've been looking great with no extra effort in the feed regimen just jacks 321 and recharge
Yeah, that's why I mentioned temps in my response as well. However even when I get my canopy temps up I still have to supplement Mg sometimes, and it tends to come with Cal in it. Also, there's a point where adding CalMg is cheaper and safer than running a space heater all winter long.

One of the things I've found interesting is once I flip to flower the plants don't care anymore. It's only in veg where I ever have issues.

This year I'm running a 315CMH in a tent right next to my LED tent so I'm hoping that warms the room up enough where it's no longer an issue.

Now i have to measure everything tomorrow :D I used to stress about hitting 80F in flower but the LED like it right up to 82 with no problem...at 79 to 82 they really like it.

Calmag became routine when i grew coco with LED....everything needs calmag.

In soil i dont use it...but any water system needs it. Could explain some late calmag issues :D i will top up my soil with kmag.

They make an organic cal mag supplement that is time released and CHEAP.

K-MAG 0-0-22

1kg$8.25
20kg$40
K-Mag is made up of a readily available sulphur, potassium and magnesium that are blended in balanced proportions. Potassium is essential for high quality fruit production, magnesium for the synthesis of chlorophyll and sulphur is needed for enzyme activation.

It is 100% water soluble and goes to work immediately, yet dissolves slowly, resisting rapid leaching from the soil. Because it is a neutral salt, it will not change the soil ph.

APPLICATION

Use at a rate of 1-2 pounds per 100 sq ft of garden surface, or 1-2 tabelspoons per cubic foot of soil mix. For a cubic yard of soil, use at a rate of 1-2 pounds.
