So, I've been searching more about the SMAN seeds I have, and I'm starting to think it MIGHT be Seedsman? I did a specific search with the Sman part in "" in Google, and the Sman part comes up in the SKU, so maybe I'm on to something ? I'm not sure yet, as the exact ones aren't listed anywhere, but it's as close as I've gotten so far LOL. The little baggie just says "Sman Cheese fems" so I'm kind of guessing. Either way, we'll see how she does.
I still need to get the light installed, though the tent should be good to go now. Tent was sprayed down with rubbing alcohol, which I do every year to make sure nothing gets in there. The light can be installed probably tomorrow, since the Wife is off, and we can get that in there, and get it hooked up to my Timer, which still needs to be reset to veg, but won't take long.
The Skywalker mystery cross seeds are about ready for a Root Riot Moss Block and some soil, and so are a few of the others. They all have started opening up from the looks of it, when I was changing out the water yesterday.
I use the same method for starting seeds every time; I take a Solo Cup, and a Sharpie Marker, and write down the info and strain name on the cup, and then I put the seed or seeds in that cup, and fill it about half way with water. Then, each day, I empty the water out, and refill it fresh (this is to prevent mold, which I learned the first few times I tried starting seeds. If I didn't refresh the water I'd see fuzzy stuff and toss the whole thing) and thus far it's done very well.
The only work in this, is making sure you don't accidentally knock any seeds out into the sink while dumping the old water. Once they have little Taproots coming out, I will normally keep them in the water for a bit longer, so that I know it's coming out nicely, and then they go into a Moss Block, or, sometimes, just directly into soil in the cups. I do this by slicing open the bottom of the Solo Cup to allow drainage, and basically just take the seeds by hand, and put them in, Taproot down if I can, and then cover them with some soil. If we use the Moss Block, which we normally do, I pull those apart so I can put the seeds in the way I want, and then put them in a cup of soil.
I haven't really ever had any issues with just using soil for a seedling, which is one of the reasons I keep on using Happy Frog soil, because I haven't ever had Nute burn from it.
I'm still planning on having the tent set up and ready for tomorrow so far. And moving a few seedlings into the tent, since they have enough tails on a few of them. I do need to play with the light a bit though; It's a new light, and I'm not sure how much power it has just yet. I normally select a pretty low setting at first to make sure I don't burn any seedlings. I don't plan on running Motor Breath this season, which is normally the main issue with a light being too high. Those seeds would burn up so fast it was ridiculous ! I fried like 5 seeds, because as soon as they would sprout, they'd be gone in a day.
Finally I had one seedling so far away from the light it was barely getting any, and I looked and saw it growing AWAY from the light at an angle, and that's when I realized what had happened. I swear you could start that one with a flash light LOL. We do have the POS light for just in case though.
I'm still debating in my head what else to pop. I'm very much wanting to pop one more Alpha Skunk Cheese. Though I may just start a few of the Alpha Skunk Cheese X Cheetos that I did this past season. I'm not sure yet though; Those seeds are brand new, and likely to remain fresh longer. We'll see though.
I know a few people hit me up to run a few of the ones I made, and I haven't forgot or anything, just REALLY busy, but I'll get them out ASAP
The seeds that I made that I have the most of, are these:
Alpha Skunk Cheese X Cheetos
Chemdog 4 BX X Cheetos
Black Cheese X Susie Cream Cheese
Those are listed by Female plant X Male Plant.
The Blueberry Cheesecake and Dead Whabbits crossed with Cheetos are ones I have the least of, as those both has an almost Palm Tree shape, so the lowers didn't get pollinated. I've got 4 seeds of one, and 5 of the other, so I'll likely keep those to test them out and see if it's worth taking to F2 or something.
