Rhubarb? BOO lineage.

Did some digging around.. Perhaps a polyploid...Can't wait to see what happens...The other plants are the same color but look nothing like this

That is really cool. All the buds like that, or just the top bud? I have one going and it's not like that either, does look the same as far as bud and leaf color.

@HydroRed just noticed this..One of these rhubarb is forming flat top buds that look like 4 buds forming all within the same bud...Looks crazy and super cool...Also something I've never seen ...Ya have any of these phenos? View attachment 199034 View attachment 199036 View attachment 199037

I never experienced this with any of the Rhubarb, but I did grow out a few oddities like this over the decades. Ive seen people have heated discussions about what its called, but I've always called it polyploidy. Though I will say that yours seems to just be growing differently than I would expect a polyploidy to grow....yours appears to be 4 buds vs one long mohawk of a flower and a gazillion sugar leaves like this White Widow I grew out about 10 yrs ago:


The main stalk was square and the smoke was less than desireable and was a total chore to trim. Huge heavy bud that mostly got tossed in the trash iirc. Yours still looks usable as of now...just 3x more lol

My 3 Rhubarbs are wide leaf plants. Not that I care, as I love variety.
WOW HydroRed, I would have not trimmed that plant, myself, she would be canna capsules and edibles for sure!
What a stunning oddity!!
I love all my weird plants, and try to salvage anything I can from those.

All of my Rhubarb phenos were hybrid phenos with leaves that kinda resemble the structure of like an OGKB leaf (with all the fingers close together pointing in the same direction).
