Back in my tomato competition days I would use a technique to clone my favorite plants, on the plant. I would take a styrofoam cup and slit down the side and bottom, then wrap it around the bottom of the branch, tape it shut and fill it with soil. In two weeks I would cut the branch below the cup, remove it and transfer into the ground for a new round of tomatoes.

So...I've brought that same practice over to my indoor garden. I'll be posting pictures in a couple weeks to show the progress. I used 3oz. clear cups, and a whole puncher at the bottom for my indoor experiment. I'm hoping this will allow me to harvest large clones off my plants and not a bunch of cuttings and plugs when I really only need one or two per plant before putting her into flower.

Hope you enjoy the experiment.

I don't know shit about shit (especially air layering) and I try to never really give too much advice, especially because I never claim to know shit, but did you cut/shave down to the cambium layer at all before putting the cup/soil around the branch? Disclaimer: I don't know shit. Positive vibes...

I did and a mass grew where I shaved it. Looked like a growth you'd see on tree.
