By all means, I don't mind a hijack either, this thread is free to go anywhere. Not a hijack.
The Bandaid Haze is looking awesome. I have 5 females of Bandaid Haze going right now. Collected pollen from two different males. Once things move to flower I will post some pics. Really great to hear about the piff like smells...very encouraging! No smells coming through that I can detect on mine yet but its still early.5 band-aid haze girls. Just about ready to start flowering - a beast in 12/12 - some potentially piffy smells coming in, the journey for the perfect haze continues.

Getting marginally better with the camera, Cackleberry F3 #2 is almost fully harvested, best structure of the bunch - deep dark and dank stout aroma, ungodly couchlock sleep inducing stone. Not a day time smoker, yet i've been smoking it all day for a week and I still cant get enough.

Cackleberry F3 #1 will come down soon too, her samples have also proven her to be a winner, with more bright and citrusy smells included

Seeds have been collected from #2, and more will keep rolling in. There's enough to go around - PM me and you can have some too
I have only known conventional veg and flip.a beast in 12/12 -
The growth and stretch in 12/12 from seed is largely determined by the speed at which the plant transitions to flower. Something very sativa influenced can and will stretch right out of the tent from time to time. Most plants give a solid 2-3 weeks of what looks like normal vegetative growth before showing sex. from there, the flowering speed and stretch really make a difference in the resulting size, having done the standard methods of veg/flip, the only time I see 24 hours of light as better is for the really fast flowering strains which need some sort of veg period beyond the 2-3 weeks in order to produce decent sized plants.I have only known conventional veg and flip.
When I flip mature plant, first, bud sights will appear , then the plant will begin stretching.
Is that how it goes with 12 from seed ?
(I am wondering if) Plants show sex and just keep right on building?, or is there subtle differences in how they "stretch" ?
I think I would be down for 12's from seed.
My harvests are large enough that I dont need the pains or risks that come with perpetual.
I dont clone or keep mothers.
I dont want to run nursery in my basement.
Would be simple to just sow and harvest out in the shack.
Also I have never framed in veg space out there. So if I was to sow seed in the flower room, the infrastructure already exists,,, whereby: I could be super duper lazy. I like the sounds of that.
Your plants grow big T.
A guy couldn't really do a SOG with this method ?
That would be hard for me. I like packing them in there.
I dont do much weighing, however at the end of the day I still need jars full of weed, big, big jars.
Does a guy need lower plant density with 12's from seed ?
Crazy how fast some reg plants really can be.The growth and stretch in 12/12 from seed is largely determined by the speed at which the plant transitions to flower. Vigor plays a part too. Most feminized seed varieties I have grown show a lower vitality/vigor than regs, this normally results in a smaller plant with a lower yield. Squirt was one such variety.
SOG is still very possible as long as you have similar genetics with similar growth and stretch, otherwise you could end up with some plants not receiving much light. Id even say you can pack them in even closer as long as you plan to defoliate. I see it as a win/win, less complexity, great results, no observable difference in the bud, and usually just 3 months start to finish, flowering time may vary
It can be a balancing act but only a handful of strains I've run underperformed in 12/12 from seed, and a similar number I'd say 'overperformed' given the height restrictions I work with. Most strains are somewhere in that sweet spot of 60-120 grams per plant for me. I used to LST but now I mostly let it do its thing -top if it goes too high - remove lowers below mid-plant.Crazy how fast some reg plants really can be.
I should add something here - there's not typically a lot of variance between plants of the same strain, but there is some. I would call it the plants 'natural' vegetative cycle, which is very long for most sativas 4+weeks, and much shorter for most indicas (as low as 2 weeks) (in my experience of course), Its during this time that the plants just veg, which really determines the final size. But of course then flowering starts - stretch still happens like with any veg/flip grow, its comparable. usually a (edit) 50% to 100% height increase, cola sizes don't really get effected negatively either. more on that belowPlants show sex and just keep right on building?, or is there subtle differences in how they "stretch" ?
And thank you, as do yours. I only wish I had that kind of space to work with. I will admit not all of the plants grow big, but yield has never been a problem because I usually pack them in. In a 2x4 I start with 8, hoping for 8 females. same for a 2x2. That density usually makes up for any lack of producers. When i was growing in soil I was consistently getting things that looked like thisYour plants grow big T.
Ah hell, I have flipped plants about that young.. I would call it the plants 'natural' vegetative cycle, which is very long for most sativas 4+weeks, and much shorter for most indicas (as low as 2 weeks
I’ve had my eye out for those Bandaids because it sounds like supreme fire. As I suspected it appears she’s a bit unruly.Bandaid haze update
Short summary: What the Fuck. My 6 foot tent is tapped out vertically, I can not go higher on the light, and I all I can do it take the hedge trimmers to the top 2 to 3 inches of bud. Every. Single. Day. The growth is outrageous. The stretch is long and never ending. The only thing that can save this now is the piff quality bud, its too early to say if it will be.
