WHAT IS THE SKUNK-IST PLANT YOU HAVE EVER GROWN ?

Man I feel this. Everytime I see RKS in a cross, my first thought is, then where is it? If you have it where is it? Why hide it in a cross? S1 that shit. BX it. Get it out there.

If all these breeders that claim to have it actually had it, we would have it by now. So at least some of them don't actually have it. Probably most of them. Possibly all of them.
Agree! If anybody really had it they would be in the middle of main street buck naked, showing us a plant! ;)

I've heard texacannacreations screwed up skunk is meant to be pretty close to rks.
I've got hillbilly skunk seedlings ATM. That's dominion skunk X Bodhi Appalachian super skunk if I remember correctly. Very keen to see how they turn out.
I picked up a Bodhi Skunk Hashplant pack in april as a freebie.......I made the order just for that. Supposedly, it was a bodhi project that was never released or some such noise...but just last night I was talking about popping one and now.........there's more skunk hubris going here......and the moon, she is a waxing........I may pop a couple and see what I can see. Only a 10 pack too....it came with a handwriiten slash/10 thru the 11 on the label. Maybe GLG oversold and had to grab a bean from a few packs to have enuff :)

Plop, plop, fizz, fizz.............a couple getting wet after ingesting the correct amount of caffiene. :coffee:

I feel it would be a possibility to recreate such a pheno again, genetics are amazing and there are lots of varities available but still, it's the magic bullet that has to be locked and loaded again.
Could ya imagine the folks that first harvested the strain, were able to recreate and keep going for half a decade, they must have felt blessed.

I can't believe I've not been in on this...

I wasn't smoking back when I was 5, so I never tried the real Skunk. I DID smell it a few times though... I still can remember sitting in my old neighborhood, and I said "Oh wow a Skunk" or something like that, and some older family said "Uhhhh that's not actually a Skunk" and I was dumb founded.... I knew what a Skunk smelled like, because when someone would run one over with their car I'd leave my bedroom window open with the fan on and just sit there smelling it... (I did the same thing with Gasoline and Limburger Cheese.....Makes more sense why, now that I smoke weed LOL!) and I'd sit there late at night smelling a Skunk.

Now, with that in mind, I can count on one hand, after a terrible saw accident, how many times I've personally smelled Weed that actually smelled like a Skunk had sprayed.

The ONLY time EVER thus far, has been the Blue Cheese mystery cross. Not only Skunky, but with Cat Piss on the back end, and to this day the most pungent plant I've EVER smelled. I've smelled a lot of weed in my day, and I select things based on the chances of it being rank, and yet, a simple screw up by me, is the only one.

I actually thought it was a phenotype to be Honest; but Schwaggy set me straight with some facts about breeding and pollination that put me right. I don't have a clue what male pollinated a Blue Cheese clone, but what I do know, is that the first of two female seedlings that became big enough for me to clone, was one I nicknamed "Big Momma Cheese". She was big, and looked and grew like I expect any Cheese to do. When I first got a sniff of her though, I was searching through my nose for notes of Blueberry and Cheese, but didn't find that at all... What I did find was Skunk, and Cat Urine. After some time, there was a little bit of odd Berry like aroma in it, but it was just overpowering in terms of ranking Skunk and pee.

By the time she was flowering, it was apparent that it was something different than anything I'd ever had. Harvest time came, and the in law who can't hardly smell anything (He had Covid and can barely smell anything as it is) came in the bedroom, and we had her hanging up, and he walks in, and literally took a step back and said "WHAT is THAT!?!?!?!" even he could smell it.

I literally had trouble sleeping at night with her hanging up to dry in there... I've NEVER smelled something like it before. I'd be laying in bed and the smell would just permeate out and make it actually hard to sleep.

Once she was in jars the smell didn't change much like a Cheese normally would; Wife walked in one day and I was burping a jar, or, had it open to grab some weed from, and she asked me "Did the cat pee in here??" and I'm like "I think it's this" LOL. Wife didn't like the smell at all, but loved the actual weed itself.

The main two notes you could pick up were straight Skunk spray and Cat pee pee. To this day I'm not sure wtf happened with that plant, but MAN was she a producer too.... Massive tops, all smelling like something scared a skunk.

I did run a few seeds of that this past season, and out of 7 seeds, all but two were male. Sadly the male plants were the ones that smelled the most like the Mother they came from. The females do have that REALLY odd sour smell, but they're more "nutty". I do have seeds left of this, though I'm not sure how many, and I know I sent some out but haven't heard back as of yet.

I've said this before, and I'll say it again; In terms of what you're likely to find in a Skunk seed you purchase today, you aren't likely to get anything actually Skunky because the breeders selectively breeding that trait out, but Cheese on the other hand... That was from when they first started messing with the selective breeding, and so, it would make sense, that the closer you are to the real deal Cheese, the more likely that trait could come about, with proper amount of Thiols and Sulphur feedings of course :)

I agree the stinkiest one for me was cheese but I have also had it hit everything from fruity to cheesecake in the 20 or so seeds I grew looking for that one again. I was late to the party on growing any skunk didn’t start till 2000s. I did smoke some super skunky stuff back when I was a kid in the late 90s growing up in the Midwest it seemed like it was all skunk for a few years then POOF gone. I have heard to look deep in Mendo the skunk comes out in that one still. Good Luck

I got that East Coast grateful breath and she can bring out some nasties. For me, it's the grandpa stash. I'm running now. She cures up beautifully skunky

For me the Jack Flash x Super Skunk, I got from Erlanger and The Penguin, (SeedsFromTheIgloo) from Australia, 2002 maybe, 2001.
There was tendency to throw herms, and it was causing huge thread fights, on OverGrow.
I did not care, and wanted some.
To this day, it is still the most potent weed, stinkiest, weed I ever grew out. Not big plants, nor particularly great looking, until they frosted up, then they would just mesmerize folks.
This plant and later on a Lapis Mountain, from a Canadian seed seller, super stinky, and just as potent, on a small weird structure of a plant. Most of the seeds did not do well, only got maybe 2 plants, and I could not clone her, as many time as I tried.

Those sound pretty nice bro :)

I have things to add now :

Alpha Skunk Cheese and Dead Whabbits.

Alpha Skunk Cheese isn't blooming as of yet, but smells like Cheese and Catpiss.

Dead Whabbits... Makes my mouth water. She just started blooming recently, and it's incredible. When she was a tiny seedling with 3 inches of green on her, she already smelled like raw beef. Pungent and lovely! Winning parental lineage does that at times :)

It was the mid 90s on The Red Road in Hawaii and I got picked up hitch hiking on a hot day. After a minute in the vehicle, the driver told me I smelled like a skunk ! They were cool so I told them it must be the buds I was smoking. I smelled my armpits and sure enough the skunkiness was oozing out with my sweat ! I think we then shared a bowl of those buds from Humboldt, which were the best on the island at that time :)

Lil! Bro I've had moments where I smell myself like "is it the weed or did I sweat too much today..." lol.

My growing career only spans 3.5 yrs, so all my experience is "post-Skunk" for the most part

My "skunkiest" so far has been HSC Collie Man Kush. The couple I've grown were very GMO-esque, one being almost gunpowder-sour.

On that note, GMO, IMO, is about as close as it gets to a true Skunk nowadays

Pineapple Diesel by Dynasty had a roadkill pheno. I got 1 of. Horrible carcass, vomit and excrement type smells throughout flower. Sounds unreal, I know. Hope others experienced that trauma also. Lol
The smell mellowed out a bit in the cure. Fantastic high to the smoke, just smelled so damn rank. Wife told me, "If you grow one that bad smelling again..." dudes, our clothes and hair smelled like that. It was bad. People at the restaurant I worked at complained. That was with a carbon filter.
I think that was early 2016. 🤔
