It's still Saturday so they will get bonus rep boost as well2 people who should be mentioned is @Deebs for insane amounts of help, cant thank him enough
@jaguarlax for bringing me to this awesome place and for some good info
I don't feed like you do, so I don't flush anything, nothing to flush. Lol. So I'm not much help there. ???Some clarification please!!! 8th week starts tuesday, also have some trichs clouding up. Just watered with water. Ro out of tap is 6.4 ph 5 to 7 ppm so I didnt add anything. Runoff was 169 ppm....I have read it says buds dont grow much last couple weeks just maturing. Then have read it doubles in size last couple weeks...just seems odd to start flushing 2 weeks early when I could feed up to last week...but if the later statement is true and they dont grow much more then nutes is wasted anyway. But what about like quarter feed to the last week and then flush? Another thought and question is. There is stored nutes in plant right? How long do these last? Is that why it says 2 weeks?
Well shit lol I planned on harvesting a tad earlier I like the speedy high. So I figured 2 weeks after started to change should be good but not 100% but would really hate to deprive the plant if it can still use it. This is a hell of a conundrum lolI don't feed like you do, so I don't flush anything, nothing to flush. Lol. So I'm not much help there. ???
But to answer one of the questions, yes they do fatten up substantially at the end. At least imho they do.
If they keep getting fatter and still have white hairs growing, I just let em keep going. Lol.
Once I see the trichomes at full milk imho I've got about week to two weeks ish left til I feel ready to chop em. Usually around 15 to 20% ambered.
So if I was to flush, I'd be doing it when I see no more clear ones, and all milky.
You'll really notice water uptake drop off when the plant is done doing her thing.
And a nute fade out of the fans at the end is perfectly fine. The plant is just using up those stored nutes in the leaves.
I'm looking forward to the next grow, bunch of new things to incorporate. Who knew growing a plant would be so rewarding and peaceful...everybody who has growed right lol. Dont get me wrong there has been some stressful times but that's why its rewarding right. I catch myself standing there just looking at it, I think I have room for a chair in there lol. I'm glad I started growing and I'm ecstatic that my wife let's me.
@spyralout kick ass job moderating and noticing people helping and taking your time to merit it.

Good stuff there. It does seem there is 2 sides on this and the term bro science is great. Since I just watered should I run some nutes through it or just wait the few days and live and learn? I tend to use nutes every other and then cal mag between. But was recently told calmag in late flower isnt needed but I do use ro.The whole flushing for 2 weeks at the end is kinda bro science, It doesn't effect the smoke. I like to taper the feed the last two weeks until the last 2-3 waters are just water and I don't run a bunch extra through, I just water like normal. The reason I do that is to encourage senescence, and to save a bit of money on nutes. The last two weeks won't have much of a visual change as much as ripening up, and firming/bulking up. They do pack on a lot of weight the last two weeks.
The "white ash vs black ash" isn't due to flushing, it's due to proper drying and curing. If I remember I'll try to link the scientific study done on the subject later.
If you are after a slightly early pull for the more racy high, pull when most are cloudy with a smattering of clears. I tend to go the other way with harvest by pulling at mostly cloudy with a smattering of Amber's. It should be about a week difference between the two ripeness levels.
Imho if the plants are still growing and happy, keep doing what you have been, and chop when you see fit based on your preference.Well shit lol I planned on harvesting a tad earlier I like the speedy high. Thank you!!! Phenohunter is my home, and im very thankful for the nudge over here. I am super excited about trying out the smoke. It seems this part of the grow is where experience is worth its weight in gold. A lot of time in a plant for a silly mistake. I will do a smoke report, wish I could get a outsiders input. That will shoot me straight lol. Always been my worst critic.Thank you brother. I am so stoked you are finding success here. I remember your first posts over on the other forum, and I remember thinking that you would fit in perfectly around here... I wasn’t wrong. I look forward to watching you improve, and most importantly...Enjoying the fruits of your labor! I think we gonna need some smoke reports homie... Well done. Congrats on your first harvest.
I volunteer as tribute. I am willing to sacrifice my lungs in the name of science to validate that what you have grown is indeed cannabis.Thank you!!! I like this, and it makes since. Almost gotta grow a strain once to figure it out and then kick its ass. Makes great since on harvesting at diffrent times to pin point where I'd prefer the plant.Imho if the plants are still growing and happy, keep doing what you have been, and chop when you see fit based on your preference.
Try an experiment with your own style.
Harvest some early, some a bit later, and see where your perfect spot is with that plant.
If your keeping cuts that's always good info to find out.
Different plants imho will want different harvest times. Some early, some later.
Ie: my Jenny Chem I like at full milk, with a bit of ambering. A bit more uplifting at that timeframe.
The BBB I like better with a fair bit of amber to it, seems to have a much deeper stone and gets very spacy. Lol
They're all really good either which time of harvest, but personal preference to the subtle changes to the high are noticeable to me.
Dial em in mang. ???
That would be awesome, I will deffinetly be getting ahold of you closer to time.I volunteer as tribute. I am willing to sacrifice my lungs in the name of science to validate that what you have grown is indeed cannabis.
Even with experience, the last few weeks, all the way up until they are fully cured, is the hardest (most stressful) part imo.Thank you!!!
