Outdoor Sin N Juice getting her groove on! She’s pushing seven foot tall. What causes purple stems and branches? I have a Wedding Cake that was really purple until I moved it outside. All the new growth is back to green.

Thanks !! The BX1 and F1 thing wasn't something I was familiar with. That sounds like a damned fine strain to grow to say the least haha! Mimosa and GG#4 would be an interesting scent I'd imagine. Thanks again man I appreciate it !

Hey man, I noticed that happening to some of my plants this year myself, and best I can tell is it's the lights. This year I started plants from Seeds for the outdoor for the very first time, and I noticed some odd Purple colors showing up with LED lights, and as soon as I put them outside, all the growth went Green. I'm guessing it's got something to do with the lights though.

That’s what I would have thought too as all of my SNJ has been run inside under LED/CMH combo. This SNJ was bright green up until a month/month and a half ago and then them stems starting turning purple. It was put in the ground the weekend before Memorial Day with Nectar For The Gods One Shot. My educated guess tells me that she used up all the nutes and the soil is missing one thing she needs. This cut of SNJ runs more purple than a lot of others and it’s never been detrimental to the plants, so I’m not sweating it too much.

I believe it is mag def. It seems to be a problem with leds. I have the same issue.
I too believe that the LED (even if used in conjunction w/ HID) will make your plants use more MG and often CA too. The high intensity and cooler temps under the led will make both main stems and petioles go purple. Ive had a line of green across a purple stem where another stem was blocking the light. It left the stem green in the shadow so there's def a correlation. Its like it was sunburnt from the led lol

This is all good info! I can’t blame LED on this particular plant because it’s been outside all summer. This is leading me to believe that SNJ requires more MG and CA than some other strains. A friend of mine also has a few SNJ clones that are growing like mad with purple stems….also outdoors and he’s in super rich farm ground. Next indoor run of SNJ will get an extra shot of calmag to test it. This is by far my favorite strain I’ve grown and I’m not going to let her go for quite a while!
Oh ya, genetics can most def play a huge role in the stem colorings. My GG4 always had purple pinstripes no matter what. My Banana OG is in a constant state of purple stems.

Agreed . I just had that exact occurrence during our winter . They were looking terrific through Autumn then winter and my failure to adjust quick enough caused a major lock out . As soon as I added an oil heater inducting temp increase after 10 days they turned around . Lesson learnt

The monkey juice and Mother's milks are doing good. My wife didn't feel good last time she watered and she forgot to water the mothers milks and a pupilstan. No harm done though. They will recover. She didn't take any pics of mm2. She was too sad looking and my wife said tomorrow morning when shes happy she'll take a few
