I always snip the cotyledon leaf and send that right after the next set appear. I do it asap and never had an issue. I think maybe taking the next one up stressed the seedling a bit. Just my 2 cents

I'm still hanging onto the Slurricane male, so fuck it, I think it's time for a seed run! 🤘 so i guess we'll do some Slurricane F2's, and, I think I'll let the Slurr male hit my Chernobyl as well:

My wife caught my "extra" plant (the Glitter Trike in a solo cup) so I gave it to someone to grow out as a houseplant 🤷🏻♂️ lol oh well, that's what I get for being honest and staying within my plant limits
i am REALLY stoked on the structure of the Chernobyl, it's much nicer than the previous ones I've grown. This is a clone of one in flower, & it smells like "lime sunblock", pretty frickin awesome. It quite literally smells like Summer. I hope crossing it to Slurr won't dilute that quality too much, but I guess we'll see 🤷🏻♂️ also stoked on the wide leaves on both Slurrs, maybe they'll stay shorter.

From what I've noticed in the crosses I've made with Chernobyl the terps and frost carry through nicely. I have crossed it with a reversed Fruit Snacks and a Blow Trops male. So I bet the slurricane will be a nice match 👊🔥.

I never really grow plants like this, but just trying different things; I topped the female Slurricane way later than I usually do, and I stripped the big fan leaves off both the male and female. The big leaves were shading all the lower growth, so I pulled em off in effort to bush them out a bit.
I defoliated the Chernobyl pretty moderately, just to keep the leaves from bunching up within the plant. Lollipopped it only 1/3 of the way up, which I'll do just past halfway once it gets into flowering stretch.
I'm contemplating adding one more plant to this mix, I need to see what my Dad is holding in his mother space 🤔🤷🏻♂️

The Chernobyl is beasting, and had to be up potted. Also took a couple clones off it, I want to hang onto this one for a while:
I'll take a Slurricane cut or two before it gets flipped.

I love having a 2x2, but when it starts filling up like this I do get a lil bit edgy:
They're quite crowded in the middle. Gona need to add another fan for the under-canopy area.
It's been raining quite a bit here, so luckily I have this grossly oversized dehumidifier to handle it 👍 it's almost as big as my 2x2

I ran 9 in my 2x2 last run. Half gallon grow bags.
The only thing about your setup that would bother me is that there aren't an even amount of plants that make a square in that square tent. I'd add a fourth and just really really clean up the lowers (leaving the fan leaves but taking off the budsites).
I've been obsessive about uniformity lately lol.
They look happy and healthy tho!

Just put the two Slurricanes into #2 pots, and trained the lady. The male I'm just gona leave untrained, I'm hoping the main cola will produce copious pollen. Also have a rooted cut of the Chernobyl and took a fresh cut of the female Slurricane, both of which I'll flower after this seed run 👍

Flipped to flower yesterday & took another cut off the female Slurricane tonight. I suck at cloning, I keep damping them off so I'm trying things a little differently this time; i cracked the sides of the inner and outer cups, I created a well fitting dome instead of using a baggie, and i packed the coco down in the cup a little bit. Fingers crossed 🤞

I'm SHOCKED how quick the dude is stacking! Should I have given the females a headstart in flower? I feel like he's gona start spewing pollen before the females can receive it 🤷🏻♂️

That's what I realized too, the males drop quick. Girls should get a week or two head start.
Now with fem seeds, reversed females it's the opposite. The reversed pollen donors need two weeks head start. Take alot longer to drop.
