I'm not even a Rush fan, but I found it moving and very watchable. 💚
Glad you enjoyed. :) That's my view as well. I'm way more a fan of them as people than of their music. They have this reputation as these prog-rock artsy types but they are just good ol' Canadian boys that liked good weed and good laughs along with sci-fi and fantasy.
It may not be part of our stereotype but with our long winters, games like D&D are a big part of many of our lives, along with Tolkien and all the other stuff people did before smart phones.

When you see the guys playing cops in Trailer Park Boys or Geddy goofing it up on a Bob and Doug McKenzie song or in any interview there is no pretension, no sense of bigger-than-life personalities, or affectations adopted to impress, and I've always appreciated that.

That's a good way to put it. They always seemed like solid dudes, and I end up reading
articles about them somewhat often... even though the timbre of GL's voice is like nails on a chalkboard for me.

Just know that by mentioning those two in the same sentence you've probably landed on some hit lists. ;)

Ya know, like if someone told you the Police and Demented Are Go are basically the same since they are both from the UK.

LOL it's funny because after I said that, I'm like "Man, I just made it seem like I'm lumping those two together" even though it was just the first male Canadian that popped into my head LOL.

Speaking of Digging it...

It doesn't help we had the Canadian content laws for radio.

This was in my hood.
I never, in my life, have I heard of someone being attacked by an animal, around here.

,,, well, when I was a kid, there was that guy that who got bit on the BACK OF THE HAND by a rattlesnake.
We are not going to count that.

Kk, now there is that time that a deer kicked Brock Lesnar's ass.

Doesn't mention it in this article, but he was impaled on the poached deer's corpse.

That poor girl must have been terrified. Good thing she's okay and her family was right there.

When I was about that same age I was stalked by an unknown number of coyotes in some thick, swampy woods. I was out wandering and after a while could hear things around me. Visibility was only a few feet in most directions and I could hear them getting closer but couldn't see them. I still didn't know what they were, but they were closing in.

At some point, a coyote poked its head out of the brush a few paces in front of me. It looked right at me and I stared back. After a few seconds it melted back out of sight.

The sounds went away.

I made a cautious beeline toward the nearest road and then took it back to where my parents were. I never ran, I never freaked, but I was scared. (those woods ended up being my playground/backyard for years, never had another issue)

I think they hadn't been able to ID me and once they did, they left. I'm just happy they decided I wasn't prey.

That's pretty rare man. We have a LOT of Coyotes locally, and even in the city areas, they have shown up a few times, caught on camera, running around the town. The main issue in my opinion, is people allowing pets outside, as they are totally at risk to them. I've HEARD of a guy who was out here one time hunting, and apparently a pack of Coyotes had him stuck up in a tree for a night, which is also odd to me, but apparently it does happen sometimes.

Personally I've not ever had much issue with them. I can hear them at night, and once I walk outside and pee off the deck, you can hear them take off. Almost like they smell it... "This fucker hopes we make it self defense so he doesn't need a license to use us as Catfish bait...." LOL. I don't use guns in the woods as I don't feel the need for that. I have a decent sized but legal knife I take with me, and the odd Machete for clearing out areas to look at new spots, and I feel like that's enough. I've ran on purpose to see if they would chase me, but thus far, it's been no.

If we had Wolves this far south, I'd be sitting with a real dilemma though; I don't know if I could harm a Wolf. I love them. I'm more likely to be mauled trying to either pet one, or steal a baby.

Not here. I was 13 days behind last year for my first time out but I've more than made up for the late start.

I was looking at my notes and last year I had 16 trips by the end of December. I've already been out 21 times this year and I'm not done.
Last December there were a couple cold stretches that kept me home but so far this season it's been fishable nearly every day. I'm loving it.
