I'll throw some pics of the gardens up in here later this evening. Here's a rough list (with some stuff probably forgotten):

- six varieties of tomatoes
- brussel sprouts
- broccoli
- a dozen or so varieties of lettuce
- two varieties of spinach
- Papaver Somniferum (dutch flag, Turkish red, Giant Pod, Pashiwar)
- Ipomoea purpurea (flying saucers)
- California Poppies
- Swiss chard
- Columbines
- tulips
- two different roses
- two varieties of hops (willamette, centennial)
- a spice cabinet's worth of herbs
- carrots
- three varieties of potatoes
- rutabega
- two types of beans, one bush and one pole
- cucumbers
- watermelon
- musk melon
- strawberries

The heat wave we had around PDX last week caused both the brussel sprouts and the broccoli to bolt. Pretty irritated about that, first year trying to grow them. Whatever though. Shit happens. Hoping that the poppies will grow fine. Something's eating the damn morning glory starts, so gonna have to start them indoors. Hopefully have enough of a season left for them to vine up nicely.

Do you have plans for those poppies and morning glory?
I bet you have plans for the hops ?

Indeed, well at least the poppies. Given the current situation, I figure storing some pods will be good for medicinal use, and I'll probably cut some pods just because I've never experienced pure opium, though I'm well versed in opiates. Plus, my ol lady loves cooking with poppy seeds, so why not harvest pounds ourselves vs $10 a pack for 300.

The morning glories are more of a thing I grow because I'm big into ethnobotany. Terrance McKenna is an idol of mine, and I'd love to have a garden devoted to psychoactive plants. If i could grow Mimosa Hostilis where I live, I would, but I don't think our temps are hot enough for the tree to survive. Though, I'm looking at getting a caapi vine cutting. Just need room for it -- they are temperamental and get huge haha. I've also looked at getting ahold of some Peruvian Torch or San Pedros, but I'm not in the desert anymore and I'd hate to kill such a magical plant just because I brought it to an environment it was never suited to survive.

I enjoy Lucy from time to time, but LSA isn't something I've ever been terribly interested in. From my understanding, it's more similar to a 2ci/2cb/research chem trip than LSD-25, and I'm not really about that life. But, it doesn't change the fact that any psychoactive plant puts off this aura that is... can't find the word for it. They all emanate peace and power to me. Perhaps I ate too many mushrooms back in the day, couldn't tell ya haha.

Last year was the year I started the hops and harvested about a pound of centennial with only like an ounce of willamette. Used the willamette for tea (which was awesome), and am now looking into cooking recipes for the pound sitting in the freezer. Will be brewing some beer later on.

Oh hell yea nice man ? I had all the intentions of growing everything psychoactive back in the day. Life happened and never got to it. That was back in the "Poisonous Non-Consumables" ads in High Times days ? surprised I don't see any salvia in that list, but that may require a more tropical environment than PDX. Awesome, looking forward to seeing your garden, psycho or non! We're really getting into growing things, weed for us was the gateway to growing other plants too lol

We actually have a couple different kinds of sage in the seedling stage right now, but I've never been a big fan of Salvia Divinorum. It always caused my nerves to feel like they were on fire. Plus feeling like you're up to your nose in water and gravity suddenly shifted 90 degrees clockwise, not my cup of tea haha. Though, I agree. I don't think it'd grow well in this area. It's too wet and doesn't get hot enough for such. At my mom's place back home we had some growing in the back yard, but that is high desert in the Southwest US.

yea definitely not a party drug lol. I always felt like I was standing bare feet on a circus cable wire trying to balance side to side, and the wire hurt really bad like I was pushing into the wires full force. One time mid boomer trip I took a hit and the whole world folded in half and fell to the ground shattering to pieces ?

Haha, that reminds me of the first time I did acid. Dropped a point of Molly, then took two hits of blotter. Molly hit, and rolled really mellow for like two and half hours. Then came out of the roll about the time the acid was really hitting. We were walking in the mesa and the sun was barely starting to rise, so the sky was still dark, except for across the mountain tops. The world split for a bit... One side almost like, on fire (think like SLC punk, but not quite so severe), and the other side was the void... Absolutely incredible experience, but nothing like the terror that salvia is.

Salvia is the worst 10 second buzz I've ever had. No lie
