Heat, heat, heat! Even with my ac, I couldn't drop ambient temps below 92*. So ripped them out, sold 7 days later for a 1200.00 loss.
How well will a double end 630 cmh flower a 4x4 tent ?

Dang that's a lot of fans lol. So the gavitas put off more heat than cmh?

With 1x 315cmh in an air cooled hood, I can leave my hand on the glass directly under the bulb w/o issue. Years and years of trial and error, and loads of equipment collecting dust. The gavitas are on rope ratchets. So I can raise/lower as needed. After a flower run, it gets used for my dry/cure room.
I ran my co2 lines behind the wall fans. So it blew co2 over the plants. Then I had 4x small 8" fans on the floor blowing up. Co2 is heavier than air, so it sinks.

Gotcha, totally understand that. Air cooled hoods makes all the difference in the world. I ran 20 1k hps fixtures all with air cooled hoods and heat wasn't an issue either. Without air cooled hoods it would've been a bit hot lol.

I went from 3x600 (1800w) hps air cooled to 4x 315cmh (1260w), and pulled the same weight, but more frost.
There were 2x OG's (hammerhead and reeves(iirc)) on icmag (iirc) back when the cmh began to gain popularity. I followed those 2, then started my own tweaks. At the time, Philip's bulbs reigned THE best out of every other bulb maker, with the exception of ushio. Ushio beat Philip's by 2umol of uvb. That's it.
I've done testing with a/c hoods, no glass hoods, co2, no co2, flowering with a veg bulb, vegging with a flower bulb. I have TONS of trials I did over at thc(scammer). Same screen name.

Yessir. 575-650 watts is the sweet spot for a 4x4, imho.
