Hunting for Old School

Unless some plants had me completely fooled, this is where I'll end up on the female plant count:

- Ten (10) Bitchin' Slymers
- Three (3) Richard Williams Seed Company Deep Congo's (or possibly Deep Chunk but more likely Congo)
- One (1) Richard Williams Seed Company Back to the Congo
- Two (2) Joey Weed AK47 f2's (culled another one that was clearly a hermie once pre-flowers shot) :cautious:
- Two (2) Cinderella 99 F?'s one each from peakseedsbc and FleurduMal

This AK47F2 from Joey Weed is being pulled. I can't risk seeding Bro's production plants. That is clearly a male flower down low to me. The pistil area up top looks "bi-" to me too.

Good call, and looking out for your grow bro.
I've got one I'm watching close too, not pulling it atm as I'm not sure of it yet. If it was for other than personal though I'd pull her into quarantine to be safe, or the axe to be safer. Lol. Taking my chances for now. ???

This is a dilemma for me but I'm leaning this way. Just let em grow unstressed as long as I can before flower and hopefully that growing tip will start alternating nodes before I whack it, then for sure the arms that become the new tops will also be alternating and I should be able to grab more cuts after the first 7-10 days of flower if I don't clean off all the lowers when I cut the tops. I'm hoping more folks will chime in on this one.
I didn't have any "alternaters" when I topped them so all the tops got tossed. I purposely left eight arms per plant thinking I'd take the lower four as clones "when they alternate". No more than two weeks to flip, probably a day or two less.

AM I ON THE RIGHT TRACK? This project will be for naught if I don't get my clones cut/rooted!

even before they are mature (alternating nodes)? i read years ago they would stop maturing when cut. fake news???
IME it will def slow them down on sexing when you top them, but will encourage lower growth. The tops that are cut are great for cloning imho, and you can have rooted clones before they've sexed. No need to wait for alternating nodes to clone IME.

I'll just wait and let the alternating tops be my "first" cuts in the cloner. The second set right around flip, and possibly a third a week or so into bloom.
For the fact-checkers wondering why I didn't wait for alternating nodes and instead topped early... I'm balancing training and growth so as not to be "too far" behind the production plants in the room when it flips in about two weeks. I left eight arms on every plant and intend to take the bottom four from each as my first set next week. I needed that recovery/growth time working for me and alternating nodes were taking too long to show. I'm sure they'll be showing before the first cuts are taken.

It was so friggin nice I wanted y'all to see it. The funny thing is we get to a light where "in the oncoming left turn lane" there's the new mid-engine Corvette in the front of the line but "we" get the light and the Vette has to watch this McClaren cruise by. The Vette looked so "wannabe" by comparison it was sad... and I LOVE VETTES!

Lineup change... THREE CINDY'S! The last Fleur du Mal threw pistils ?, "and" another Deep Congo did the same so that's four Deep Congo's, along with one Back to the Congo, two AK47'S, and ten Slymers... total of twenty. I only had eighteen "spots" but I'll squeeze in the extras I'm sure.

Deep Congo was originally released in 2006 by little known Richard Williams Seed Company up in Canada. A cross between Deep Chunk (Tom Hill) and some Congolese sativa. The few threads I've found spell KEEPER GENETICS but who knows. "Number 5" was born a runt but oh boy has she grown out of it and looks the best now by far...

Oh and how's about that green eh? Way better with food in the water!

And what's your opinion on this "constant" defoliation thing my Bro does?
I was just trimming mine up this morning. Lol.
I do a fairly constant trim here and there throughout the lifespan to expose bud sites, and promote growth where I want it.
In particular throughout flower I do it.
A main one at the flip to get arms growing and bud sites galore. Lol. Then a few here and there as bud sites become grown over as needed, and trimming out larf sites as they appear. Helps promote airflow as well, and reduces chance of pm if the canopy is kept thinned out a bit.
I'd say at least once a week during flower I'll clean up each plant.
