Menthol finish?

I've found a pheno that has very mentholated terps from a polyhybrid cross I did many years ago..I would really like to isolate these terps and continue on trying to bring out even more mint..menthol..camphor..This being a poly and none of the parent stock having any menthol at all I think I need a special male... Question being has anyone ran across a strain that every pheno was minty or mentholated??? Or maybe lead me toward a strain that chances are high...

WyEast and Compound have a strain called The Menthol. I think they might be all fems but might be worth looking into ?‍♀️

Our very own @BH is growing Ultra Wilson which is a Masonic Mash-up that includes The Menthol that @Desert Rose posted about.
Some of Masonic's other menthol crosses have sold out, but a quick peek showed Blue Agave x Wilson still available.

Another that comes to mind is Minty Mountain Mist from Heart & Soil, which uses his Mint Affogato in the mix... and if you look back far enough, gets it's mint from
SinMint Cookies - click on that page and scroll down, you'll see a gaggle of crosses to peruse, including Mint Chocolate Chip and it's extensive progeny.

After doing my own research I've narrowed myself down to sinmints so far.Sin city's sour flame og was something I ran religiously years back and the sour jefe was bomb too..Sin city is a very trusted breeder in my eyes..Thanks for the leads..I'll track all them down tonight.. setting up for a couple winter projects..BH ....lots to be learned from that guy..I try and never miss his posts ?

I have Motor Breath that smells like a weird mix of Eucalyptus oil and Vicks. The smell got more pronounced after curing but yeah bro it's weird.

I only grew out one female and ran her for a while, but she had a definite mint taste. I learned that minty weed is a very polarizing thing, people either strongly liked it or couldn't stand it.
Might be something here to look into:

I know it's probably not what your wanting but if you can't find a male why not take cuts and s1 it. Till another menthol male turns up.

That did cross my mind. The menthol pheno I found is not as potent as the cereal and fruity phenos I've found.. Actually the most potent pheno has almost no smell...Kind of like a graham cracker..I did this cross a very long time ago and dig into them every once in awhile..All phenos are very potent and lean sativa but this menthol one is very unique...If I want to keep it I really need to up the potentcy a bit before I really start working with it...It could use a lil frost also...I'll post some pics of it soon.. Honestly don't know if the menthol will pop back up after breeding...never have seen it to this extent..All phenos pull heavy from the goji male orginally used and then the Bahia Blackhead...Never seeing much of the sour flame or og 18 coming thru..And not one pheno has ever displayed any of the 4 directly..Damn polys...I have the no smell pheno also growing right now and it's the biggest yielder I've personally seen.. Testing in half gallon pots and got three buds ...one bout the size of my forearm..I'll post it too..Just being a lil cautious because I really want to isolate them menthol terps...May take me awhile but I'll get it

I've noticed alot of these mint strains always point back to thin mint GSC..The reason I'm leaning towards Sinmints..Thanks man?

i got 4 pheno’s of ultra Wilson and 2/4 have some menthal/creamy/mint with grapes ( can’t wait to see final/harvest results) , one of the pheno’s smells like straight up black licorice and nothing else lol


currently almost to 7th week of bloom!

This menthol talk conjured up an old memory of "Cool Colt" menthol flavored malt liquor. I only had a couple of 22oz bottles when it was available....but strangely would like to try again ???

@HBZ farms As odd as it sounds, I had a "bubblegummer" from Female Seeds that was ALL menthol some years back. It was like hitting a Newport cigarette it was so bad....yes I said bad lol. Minty is probably the worst weed terp to me. I wasnt the only one to write of their experience with "menthol" terps with this strain either so chances may be good to find something just as minty to X & BX with until you find your male. I also recently had a Goji OG that exhibited a lot of menthol on and off the plant.

@HydroRed .Well maybe the goji is where the menthol is coming from in the first place..Lots of the phenos from that 4 way really resemble the goji og..Pretty crazy about that bubblegummer...crazier thing is I'm almost certain I have a pack of bubblegummer down deep under some rice in a big jar..Have to dig tonight..Thanks man...That would be what I'm looking for!

Nah she actually came down and as she went hermie I just kept the seeds.

This is one of the offspring, which are a pain to get started because they're so light sensitive and finally she was big enough to stick outside lol.

Lol look at that trifoliate action up top. She smells pretty darn similar already, but that oily smell of Eucalyptus and Vicks was after curing buds.
