That's impressive man. Yeah I'm a tile guy and always have my rod w me. I fish the wachusett reservoir mostly , in central mass . Lotta Smallie's and LakersThat fish was from last fall. I only took that picture because I was in a bet with my bro in law over who could catch more fish that weekend. Other than that or my kids with fish, I don't ever take pictures but since checking out this thread I will. I fish everyday on my breaks at work. Im a carpenter and we only build custom lake homes so it works out pretty nice. I missed 2 on a spinner today. Looked like nice bass. Im gonna try to get out this weekend targeting northern and muskies. I fish muskies in the spring and fall. I eat northern all year long. One of my favorites. Pickled, grilled or fried, can't beat northern imo. And small mouth are my favorite to fish on that specific lake. You won't catch a smallie under 4lbs most days. I've pulled a couple 6 pounders out of there. Pound for pound, small mouth and bluegill are your best fighters in my neck O the woods.
VERY NICE! I bet I'd be doing the same thing on my breaks. That's awesome. That fish was from last fall. I need to learn to fish deeper water. I never had access until I got my lil boat, but now it's like a whole new world to me.. it's pretty easy to get em down to 12' or so
Yeah, you're going to be able to attack any spot from any angle you're going to slay. Once they get over 4 lb, it's a hell of a fight. Even those two three pounders are a nice little fightVERY NICE! I bet I'd be doing the same thing on my breaks. That's awesome.
I heard the northerns are good but I've never had one myself. I wish I had water near that had them.
Smallmouth are my favorite fish to target when I'm not musky fishing. I think my biggest one was prolly 2-3 Lbs from the local river. Them things fight like no other. I haven't fished for them anywhere else yet. I am excited to get after some real hogs in the next year or so.

shoot that last one I posted laying next to my pole was an awesome fight. I can't even imagine the 5+. I hope you can snag a pic of one of yours this fall! I think they're awesome looking fish, and I grew up reading about them in the North American Fisherman Magazine. Didn't catch my first one till a few years ago, 4 mins from my house. That's the same hole you guys see me beating up on this thread.Yeah, you're going to be able to attack any spot from any angle you're going to slay. Once they get over 4 lb, it's a hell of a fight. Yeah I live in a pretty sweet spot in the U.P. Michigan. I'm close to the boarder of Wisconsin and can get to over 1300 lakes in less than 90 minutes. Lake Superior is about an hour away too. Salmon will be running soon. Hopefully i can bag a few of those. Pretty new to that so im excited. We have two national forests, the Ottowa and the Nicollet so hunting is fantastic as well. Our summers are short though and winter can be pretty brutal. Can't have it all though!
hmmm haven't heard of those. I'll ask around though!Pure Michigan (TM)
I haven't ever been to the land of the Yoopers, as I stick with all us trolls down here, but have they stocked those Arctic Greyling yet ?
Also don't you have a few species of endangered Mad Tom Catfish there ?? I was BSing with a Biologist from the DNR over Email (The one who thinks I'm crazy for asking about Blue Cats and Gator Gar to be stocked) and he said we have a few species of endangered Mad Toms that only live in a few spots up North.
Mad Toms are super cute little Catfish, and they don't get very big. Apparently one way to catch them is to cut the tops off a can of pop or beer, and put them in the water, and let the Catfish find the can himself, and swim into it.

Glad to help bro they are apparently caught with lures in streams, and the colors on them are stunning! Very pretty fish. You can get away with light gear too, as they don't get massive.I haven't heard of either. In curious about the greyling though. Thanks for the heads up!
What the snipe huntis to cut the tops off a can of pop or beer, and put them in the water, and let the Catfish find the can himself, and swim into it.
What the snipe hunt
That's fine until the huge bull trout attacks the greyling you are trying to land. You can get away with light gear too, as they don't get massive.
Sounds like live bait and a good setup would be a good way to get one of those! I don't know if we have them or not to be honest. That's fine until the huge bull trout attacks the greyling you are trying to land.
Up here the two species often live in the same stream. If you haven't experienced bull trout, they make pike seem shy. They are just pure aggression and they OWN the pool they live in. It's common to have them chase your lure or attack your fish, not once, but over and over. They've been CnR here forever as they are just too aggressive for their own survival.
Heck yeah. Those are both some pretty lookin fish too!! Nice!
