Ya'll know what it is! Time to post up your catches from the year. Let's see how many we can get!!

I will again be hunting a male plant to make a special cross or two, specifically for all who contribute, and will update the thread as things develop.

I've been scooping out dead golden shiners as my pond thaws, does that count as a catch? ;)
Technically even I count as a "Catch" so, use that how you will lol.

Wide and I talked about our licenses today actually. We both know we didn't go last year, and I did make a promise to Jewels, so we may be picking up our licenses tomorrow after Doctor Appointment stuff. I have some new hooks from Christmas to try out too; the Octopus Hooks I love so much, I've now got smaller sizes to catch bait with. Looking forward to trying :)

Tasty Bluegills!
I have too many lakes close to home where I can catch easy limits of pan fish. Mostly bluegills, but perch and crappie have been know to come home with me as well. These
hybrid bluegills come from our pond and they are kind of like pets. All pond fish are catch and release.

Check the last pic.

You ever put any Mad Tom in there? They aren't big enough to eat your pets, and they're super cute.

No mad toms. I've stocked Hybrid Bluegills, Yellow Bellied Perch, LM Bass, and Red Eared Sunfish. A couple time a year, I plant 2 gallons of fathead minnows for the perch, but
the bass will eat them as well. I've seen them scaring them to where the minnows were jumping out of the water just before a big ole bass jumped with what I'm assuming was a
mouthful.

Here are a couple of Mad Toms participating in a local fight club. Rear naked chokes rarely end the match. It's all for good fun and developing a pecking order.
Usually jakes do this.

Here is a pic I took of a hen wood duck and her late summer ducklings. They grow quick. When I was viewing it later on my pc, the larger size of the pic on my pc let me see the bass jumping in this shot.
What are the odds of taking pics of the ducks and getting a shot of a LM Bass jumping?

Carp are an extremely smart fish and with 2 lb test leaders and a long noodle rod are great fun. I use very small hooks and Del Monte canned corn. Usually two kernels will completely hide the hook. Then I throw a couple of handfuls chumming the spot I'm going to fish. I use to make up dough balls for them, but canned corn is just as effective. Most all get turned around and released, but on occasion I have been known to bring one or two home for fertilizer for the garden. I cut them up into 5 or 6 pieces and bury them a couple feet down. Tomato plants explode with growth and larger numbers of tomatoes over others that do not have a piece of carp buried under them. They are very plentiful in many rivers in Michigan as many do not fish for them, and those that do release them.

24 lbs.
