I have to disagree, I've found some excellent stones in those old bricks.though I hear about it from people who've been smoking a lot longer and how it wasn't good.
I knew I had a pic, this is a couple years ago see the dispo bottle in the back lol.
Them bricks are still around, and I've never been affraid of em. View attachment 125628
Lol, and they were only $90.00 a kilo back in the way back machine.
The days of $10.00 lids ha ha.
A lid, depending on how well ya knew the dealer would be half full to full sandwich bag(we didn't have zip locks yet lol) for 10 bucks.
Some of that brick weed was really good...altho it wasn't very tasty and sometimes was a lil dirty and moldy..I grew up on that shit..toward the end when it started disappearing it wasn't sativa anymore..One time, I remember like it was yesterday..but many years ago I had gotten a brick but it was lime green and actually smelled decent for a change...Shit had 9000 seeds in it..I popped about 10 of those and one plant was the nicest stuff ide personally seen at the time...Super lime green and pure lemon to the Max...Thinking back I'm believing it was along the lines of lemon skunk...Ide love to have some of those beans that I used to throw away by the bag full... literally up to a half usually around a quarter of nothing but seeds in a brick....then another half of sticks..Man I wish I had kept some of them sativa's tho...Sometimes I feel like I'm not very well experienced, LOL. Having not ever smoked a brick based product I know next to nothing personally, though I hear about it from people who've been smoking a lot longer and how it wasn't good. Now, I meant what I said about popping those beans; I'd totally give that a go, because I'm kind of guessing that brick weed is done quick and dirty to maximize money intake, and yet the strains themselves are probably great if they were done properly, and pulled at the right time. Me saying "Are those seeds ?!?!" I probably sounded like a token white guy in a George Lopez stand up skit LOL!
By 1980 $25 was common. Weight was 14-28 grams (3-4 finger bag) half or more of that was stems and seeds. There was pretty good to really bad but it's what we could easily get, but there was Skunk, Hawaiian and Thai all $200+ an ounce. That's when grams, eights, quarters, etc started being sold like hash at $10gms. $10-25 Thai sticks, depending on size. Weight was 2-4 grams. By 1990-2000 $400 an oz was common $50 eights of the top of line by 2020 most high end bud is back down to $200 an ounce i.e. $25 eights. While many of us miss the old days the quality of what we can grow is so high purchasing is no longer a viable option.Thank you ! I literally wasn't sure how much that would end up being LOL.
Those seeds were what most of us started with. When seeds were found in any of the other higher quality buds we saved them but for the most part we were all flush with dirt weed seeds which when grown were obviously better as it wasn't sprayed with anything, wasn't compressed and was of course fresher. Were't Thai sticks drizzled with Opium ?? Man that would be a crazy good smell!
I still have not seen brick weed myself but now I know that if I do, keep the beans !
