Now that everyone's "electric" bill as increased - answer this question: cheaper to let it run or trun off eveytime you use it ?

let computer run all day or trun it off /on everytime you use it ?? have two opinions - cheaper to let it run than shutting it on/off thru the day ? it seems that anytime you are not running it you save electricity and then there are one's that say "cheaper to let it run" ? thoughts !!!!!

While it's true that there are some devices that have a high in rush current, in the end current is either flowing or it is not. Flowing costs money, not flowing is free.

I'm all for turning power off (and unplugging shit) when not in use.

This is my elec. use over time.

When I started indoor, 600HPS, still maintaining normal everyday use i.e. TV, computer, baking..]

What I am paying now[90% is grow alone, roughly 900 watts total+ bathroom light[4x 16 watt] and a couple LED's in the living room. Currently only me in residence with no TV and Pixel Slate. Baking and laundry being outsourced. With the exception of the living room and bathroom lights, if it's not being used, it's off or unplugged.

This is what I was paying a year ago when I started back up with the LED and a couple fans. Electricity use was already minimal.

Other than downsize the grow, I can't cut too many more corners to reduce usage and environmental stability comes first, even if it means running the furnace at night and the AC during the day.

I'm definitely feeling the pinch.

Electricity bill?
My Lil wife takes care of that stuff, I'm just a farmer of the land, maybe that's why she gets a bit testy around bill time lol.
We got power to the greenhouse, the shop and the grow apparatus plus the whole house.
Yea, we just pay it and go on.
